Costume Notes
Arran Sharma – Ty
We have dressed Arran (Ty) in typical
school clothing, black pants and a
white shirt. Ty challenges the uniform
code in school as he is seen as the
‘rebel’; we have refereed to him as
the ‘villain’ in the short referring to
Vladimir Prop’s theory of 8 main
      characters. Ty unbuttons the top
couple of buttons of his shirt, wears
his shirt un-tucked. Ty’s hair is not
combed, is has a messy look and he
has a beard to try and look cool. Ty
tries to acts as if he does not care
      much about his appearance.
Jon Lupton - Freddie
         Jon Lupton plays Freddie
McNight, he is seen as the geek
         therefore we have decided to
         dress him accordingly. Freddie is
         dresses quite smart. We have
decided to stick with the school
boy look, white shirt, tie and
         black trousers to fit the
         conventions of a typical school
         student. Freddie has his top
button done up and wears a
         smart tie. Freddie wears big
glasses to add to his geek
         appearance.
Natalya Martain - Char
          Natalya Martainplays Char, a popular
          cheerleader who is attracted to
          Freddie. We have dressed Char
according to the dress code of a sixth
form student, white top and black
          skirt/trousers. Char also wears long
socks and converses these show she
is not a typical popular girl who is
          interested in other people opinions
or the typical status she is given.
Char wears red lipstick, we decided
to add this to Chars appearance as it
suggests passion and love but also
          danger.
Pianki Assegai – MrShedeppi
            PiankiAssegai plays the teacher in
               charge of detention, Mrshedeppi.
We have decided to dress him in a
smart suit with a shirt and tie, this
               helps show his higher authority
               over the students and the
               audience automatically pick up his
               role in the short film.
               MrShedeppi’s tie is slightly
loosened and his top button is
               undone, this suggests to the
audience he has had a long day
and is very tiered and annoyed at
               this point.
