 Son – I need to give the audience a smart casual impression of the Son as I do not
want him to be portrayed as a lowlife or as someone that doesn’t really care about
their personal appearance. However, he is going travelling and on an adventure so
there needs to be an ‘outdoorsy’ element to him and in how he dresses or is
prepared needs to reflect this. The Son will have Props with him and these will be
explained further in my Props PowerPoint, but all the props will be sued to
exemplify what he is doing and how I want my character to be portrayed. The
costume needs to show a prepared, positive and adventurous individual and the
costume chosen does this. It does not seem over prepared i.e walking boots,
jacket and waterproofs because this would simply not fit the impression trying to
portray. The video needs to be in good weather in beautiful locations so using
that costume would just not work.

 Father – The clothing for the Father is not particularly important as he will only
feature briefly throughout the video at the beginning and maybe during some
flashbacks of the Son’s memories of the two of them together. The costume will
be smart casual and in truth I have modelled the Father’s clothing off of what my
own Father wears most days when he is at home or out as this will be the
environment in which the Father is included in the film.
