- 2. CORPORATE LANGUAGE TRAINING www.spring.edu.sg1 Spring College International (SCI) was established in 2001. It's registered with Singapore Council for Private Education and has been awarded the Edutrust Provisional Certificate. SCI aims to promote the notion of lifelong learning and to provide an avenue for people to improve their language skills or even learn a new language. SCI’s core business is in providing language courses (over 25 European and Asian languages, including English and Chinese), preparatory courses for entry to Singapore government primary schools and secondary schools, preparatory courses for GCE O-Level and GCE A-Level and Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses that cater to both foreign and local students. Furthermore, SCI offers in-house language training to meet the ever-growing needs of local and foreign customers. SCI has conducted corporate training for over 100 private and government organizations in Singapore. Introduction of Spring College International Training courses are conducted at our clients' premises. CORPORATE LANGUAGE TRAINING www.spring.edu.sg2 Foreign Language Training Course List of Corporate Language Training These courses aim to introduce the proper speech and pronunciation and also to encourage the students to have conversations and write in English / Mandarin, using correct grammatical rules and proper sentence structure, as required in the workplace. Students are able to ascend from level 1 to level 6 based on their conversational ability. Areas covered in the course include: daily conversation and interaction with people, telephone etiquette, handling job enquiries and job specific information, making appointments, suggestions, warnings and complaints. Working English / Mandarin Training Course Foreign Languages (Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesian, German, Italian, Tamil, Thai, Laotian, Malay, Hindi, Arabic, Dutch, French, Spanish and other European and Asian languages) This course aims to introduce proper speech and pronunciation, and also allows the students to have conversations in foreign languages, using correct grammatical rules and proper sentence structure. Students are able to ascend from level 1 to level 3 based on their conversational ability. This course aims to encourage students to listen, speak, read and write in English / Mandarin by using correct grammatical rules, focusing on sentence structure, style, clarity and effectiveness of English / Mandarin. Students are able to ascend from level 1 to level 6 while improving their reading and writing abilities. At the end of the course, students will be expected to be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in English / Mandarin, read and write memos, job applications, e-mails and reports. CORPORATE LANGUAGE TRAINING www.spring.edu.sg3 One-to-one language course for CEO (English, Mandarin Chinese and other European and Asian languages) This course is specially designed to cater to companies who have correspondences/working partners in China that need their employees to be able to communicate in Mandarin as well as be able to carry out secretarial duties in Mandarin. Other than helping to improve China's market, this course not only encourages the use of Mandarin language skills in the business world, but it also enhances students’ competence in Mandarin. Secretarial Course in Mandarin This course is specially designed to equip CEOs with skills required in the workplace to facilitate work progress and communication. This upgrading of skills will build confidence of participants. The content and approach of this programme aims to help CEOs read and write simple phrases in order to express their preferences and suggestions, provide job-specific information to colleagues and clients, relay telephone messages, handle enquiries, make reports and give explanations. At the end of the course, students will be highly desired employees with a new language skills acquired, which enables them to handle most situations at work. As the course is one to one, it allows the students to be flexible with regards to the timing of their lessons and the attention of the teacher is focused on the student. Pre-requisites Level 1– No requirement Level 2 or above – sit for a placement test / interview to assess language proficiency. Course Duration Each Level/term is categorized into 20 lessons of 2 hours. Foreign Languages: each level/term is categorized into 10 lessons of 2 hours. Exact timetable to be further discussed and arranged by client. Training courses are conducted at our clients’ premises. Lesson schedule and detailed course content can be specially designed to meet the needs of various organisations. Course Certification Students can receive a certificate by the school upon completion of the course. Whether or not to take an examination at the end of the course is optional.
