This document outlines three equations that model core losses in electrical components as a function of flux density, frequency, and other parameters. Core losses are equal to the sum of hysteresis losses and eddy current losses. The first equation expresses core losses as a linear function of frequency plus a quadratic function of frequency. The second and third equations express core losses as non-linear functions of maximum flux density, with other parameters held constant. A table then provides examples of calculated core loss, hysteresis loss, and eddy current loss values for different maximum flux densities and frequencies.
