3. Kubernetes in a nutshell
Kubernetes is an open-source system for automating
deployment, operations, and scaling of containerized
applications.
4. Knowing kubernetes concepts
Pod: a group of containers, tied together for the purposes of
administration and networking. It can contain a single container or
multiple. Eg: Content syncer & web server
Image: Each container in a pod has its own image. Currently, the only type
of image supported is a Docker Image.
Replication controller: ensures that a specified number of pod “replicas”
are running at any one time. In other words, a replication controller makes
sure that a pod or homogeneous set of pods are always up and available.
Service: an abstraction which defines a logical set of Pods and a policy by
which to access them.
8. Why should I use kubernetes?
Automatic binpacking
Horizontal scaling
Automated rollouts and rollbacks
Storage orchestration
Self-healing
Service Discovery and load balancing
