• The roof reflects the sun’s heat and makes the
room cool.
Note: Try it yourself.
When the sun is shining, stand barefoot on the black floor and white floor. You will get to know that
white floor is a lot cooler. This same situation replicates for the building roof.

This is the most effective method for cool
roof, used in hot cities like Dubai.
1. On concrete roof, a layer of insulation
material is placed covered with board.
2. Then waterproofing is done on the top
of insulation.
3. Air gap is left and then cement tiles
are laid on the top of waterproofing.
Material: Extruded polystyrene or
Polyisocyanurate

This is the second best method for cool
roof.
1. On concrete roof, a layer of screed or
mortar is laid.
2. Over it 20 mm thick cement reflective
tiles are placed.
Material: White cement reflective tile,
Johnson endure cool roof tile.

1. Roof is thoroughly cleaned.
2. Then 2 coats of reflective paint is
applied on the roof.
