Denodo TechTalks
Product Deep-Dive Series
A product deep-dive, webinar series covering
the critical capabilities of Denodo’s modern
data virtualization
• With the mainstream maintenance of version BI 4.3 ending in 2025, SAP has announced its continued
commitment to SAP BusinessObjects customers by releasing an updated version code-named SAP
BusinessObjects BI 2024 to provide more time for on-premise customers to adopt SAP Analytics Cloud.
• You must either purchase SAP BusinessObjects Private Cloud Edition (PCE) and migrate to it, or
build an alternative solution with SAP Analytics Cloud. Either approach must be completed by 2027.
Until then, SAP BOBJ is fully maintained and supported on-premises.
• The SAP BO Private Cloud Edition (PCE) is a new offering from SAP, featuring the familiar SAP
BusinessObjects software run by SAP in the hyperscale infrastructure of the customer’s choice.
• SAP BO on-premises customers are also encouraged to consider SAP Analytics Cloud as an
alternative reporting platform for web-based visualization of their data.

Reporting Views
Approach with
Automation
Some customers have a priority to convert
their reports to another BI platform. Their
approach is to go through each of the BOBJ
reports (Webi), extract the SQL, and create
Denodo reporting views. A 1-1 approach of
Webi Reports to a new BI platform.
Hybrid approach Customers who want to provide ad-hoc
capabilities and convert their set of reports to
their new BI platform. Use the automation
tool to convert classes into business views
and, also, use the automation tool to create
the base views needed for creating reporting
views.

▪ If you are considering converting to something other than SAP BusinessObjects
Private Cloud Edition (PCE) or SAP Analytics Cloud, Denodo can be your
enterprise semantic layer to replace the business rules within the Universes.
▪ Use the Hybrid approach to convert over the universe business rules and the
logic within the SAP BOBJ reports to Denodo reporting views.
▪ When selecting the scope of the PoC, select the most complex Universe within
your enterprise and a subset of reports that represent a rich set of features.
▪ The source code of the SAP BOBJ Import tool is owned by Denodo, so any
updates would require an engagement with the Customer Success team
