Projeto desenvolvido para processo de seleção de estágio no INdt.
Trata-se da criação de um aplicativo que ajuda no controle de peso.
Neste projeto contém brevemente todas as etapas realizadas até a criação
de suas interfaces gráficas.
The document discusses the MVC pattern and its components - Model, View, Controller. It then provides more details on concepts related to the model component, including entities, data access objects (DAOs), mappers, services, and interfaces. It shows examples of how these concepts can be implemented, such as defining interfaces, entity and DAO classes, and using mappers and services to work with data from different sources.
This document contains images and descriptions of various architectural sites from ancient Greece and Rome between 500 BC to the 1st century CE, including the Parthenon in Athens, the Sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi, the theaters at Delphi and Epidaurus, the plans and structures of Miletus and Athens, streets and buildings in Ephesus, the theater at Pergamum, triumphal arches at Arausio and the Arch of Constantine in Rome, the Arcadian Way in Ephesus, streets and houses in Pompeii, wall paintings from the Villa of Livia, the Grotto at Sperlonga, and structures at Hadrian's Villa including the island triclinium
This document discusses several bills and policies related to workplace wellness programs and the medical device tax. It provides background on the medical device tax implemented as part of the Affordable Care Act, which levies a 2.3% tax on medical device revenues estimated to cost the industry $3 billion annually. Repeal bills have been introduced at the federal and state levels. The document also summarizes concerns about the impact of the tax on consumers, providers, jobs and innovation. It outlines provisions in the ACA supporting workplace wellness programs and potential benefits in reducing costs, but also flags concerns about coercion, cost-shifting and lack of equity.
This document discusses how new media such as YouTube can be used for educational purposes. It describes how universities like UC Berkeley have created educational YouTube channels and how this allows students to access lecture videos anywhere and watch them multiple times. While some were initially opposed to the idea, the high view counts of the videos show it has been successful. The document also discusses how social media networks can benefit both students and colleges when colleges create profiles to use as marketing and learning tools.

Last minute decisions 'Chubby-Checker 3000'Killian Vigna
The document summarizes a directed study report for a smartphone application called the "Chubby-Checker 3000" that is designed to help users monitor their weight, body composition, and fitness progress over time. The application would sync with Bluetooth-enabled skin fold callipers to automatically input body measurements and body fat percentage into the app. Users could also take photos to track their external progress. The product aims to help motivate users by providing a more complete picture of their internal changes compared to just weight alone. The target market is 18-50 year old smartphone users looking to improve their appearance without expensive personal trainers or gym memberships.
This document provides instructions for students participating in an online lesson on calculating body mass index (BMI). It outlines equipment and materials needed, participation guidelines, and the agenda. The lesson will define BMI, demonstrate the calculation formula, have students work through a sample problem in breakout groups, calculate their own BMI, and determine if it is in a healthy range. Guidelines include using audio/visual tools carefully, raising a virtual hand to speak, writing clearly on the whiteboard, and contacting the instructor if technical issues arise.
Creating a culture that provokes failure and boosts improvementBen Dressler
Everyone fails - but not everyone uses failed attempts as a source of learning and improvement. This talk outlines a framework to turn failure into gaining knowledge by understanding IF, HOW and WHY something fails.
The document provides instructions on how to request and complete an assignment writing request on the HelpWriting.net platform. It outlines 5 steps: 1) Create an account with an email and password. 2) Complete a 10-minute order form providing instructions, sources, and deadline. 3) Review bids from writers and choose one based on qualifications. 4) Review the completed paper and authorize payment if satisfied. 5) Request revisions to ensure satisfaction, with a full refund option for plagiarized work.
Delight 2014 | Digital Disruption: Uncovering the Next Thing Your Customer WantsDelight Summit
James McQuivey, of Forrester, explains tactics for uncovering potential for innovation within organizations.
Originally presented at Delight 2014, Oct. 6-7, 2014. http://delight.us/conference
The document discusses the concept of "customer-benefits strategy product" (CBSP) as a method for innovating adjacent to customers' needs. It provides examples of how Disney and Jawbone have innovated successfully using this approach. The bulk of the document then guides attendees through a CBSP brainstorming exercise, emphasizing understanding the customer, focusing on key benefits and strategic goals, and resisting jumping straight to products. The goal is to help organizations continuously deliver the next thing customers need through low-risk, rapid experiments.
The document summarizes key highlights from CES 2015. It discusses how CES 2015 showed emerging trends across many companies rather than single breakthrough technologies. While it was impossible to experience everything, the document aims to share some highlights that captured the authors' attention, including technologies supporting healthcare in the future.
The founders of Sustained Weight Management lacked a clear brand story and value proposition to connect with customers. The Story Corp reviewed company documents and interviewed the founders to understand their vision. They developed three creative directions from which the founders chose one that best matched their vision. The Story Corp then delivered a written brand narrative and strategic focus to guide internal and external communication as the company launches.
The document provides details on the design process for an app called Protein Pal. It describes conducting research through questionnaires with target users aged 16-28 to understand their needs. Key points from the research were organized to define the app's purpose and features. Ideation methods like mind maps and mood boards were used to develop ideas. The app aims to educate users on plant-based proteins, track their progress, and provide discounts. Individual sections include "Learn" courses on proteins, a meal tracker, and suggested snacks. Wireframes and prototypes were created and tested for the education features. The document discusses using behavior change models to motivate users through tailored notifications and information.
Fitness trackers have proven health benefits by allowing people to count daily steps, track sleep habits, and monitor calories burned. This information helps people stay on track with health and weight loss goals. Fitness trackers also provide motivation by displaying real-time stats on progress towards goals for burning calories, distance traveled, and time exercised. The easy-to-use design of fitness trackers helps people enhance workouts and receive alerts to start and stop exercises.
This proposal is for a video documentary titled "The need to get big" that will explore bodybuilding and societal pressures on young men to gain muscle. The target audience is young men ages 16-24 who are interested in fitness. Research will include interviews, information on bigorexia, and examples of similar documentaries. The documentary will include a voiceover, interviews, and footage of the creator working out. It will be 5 minutes or less and aim to raise awareness of body image issues. The creator will evaluate their work by rewatching it and identifying areas for improvement to apply to future projects.
This presentation discusses the increasing use of mobile applications for fitness and health purposes. It provides statistics on mobile device and internet usage, especially among minority groups. A large list of free and paid mobile apps for iPhone, Android, and other platforms is included, covering categories like calorie counting, exercise tracking, nutrition information, and more. The presentation aims to highlight the opportunities for using mobile apps to help achieve health and fitness goals through tracking progress and connecting with others.
Apps evaluative research using diary studiesCarmen Brion
This document discusses using diary studies for evaluative research on apps. Diary studies involve having participants use an app and provide feedback on their experiences and interactions in context over a period of time. This allows researchers to see how apps are used in real-life situations and identify problems. The document provides guidance on running diary studies, including collecting feedback before, during, and after app interactions; using videos; and fitting diary studies into the product development cycle from discovery through beta testing. Diary studies help evaluate solutions, refine hypotheses, and identify needed changes based on how users interact with apps in everyday contexts and situations.

International Upcycling Research Network advisory board meeting 4Kyungeun Sung
Slides used for the International Upcycling Research Network advisory board 4 (last one). The project is based at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
2. The Process
1º Similar Research
I researched the applications of weight control that exist in
the market, what are their definitions, interfaces, features,
functions and the feedback of people who are using or have
used any of these apps. There were four applications ana-
lyzed: The iHealth iOS platform; Bluetooth weight scale for
android; btScale and Simple Weight Recorder, both also on
the android platform. All applications mentioned are very
simple and with very direct interfaces, however I could see
and evaluate how well the Bluetooth Scale works as the app
receives and stores the data.
3. The Process
2º Enterview
All product design, must be centered on the user. The design-
er must understand their users, knowing their tastes, their
needs and desires. With that in mind I drafted 10 open ques-
tions: How often and where do you weigh? Do you usually
control your weight? What would help you control your
weight? Do You feel good about your body? Among other
questions, then put all the questions in a google doc form
and made it available at the Facebook. There was an immedi-
ate return of at least 20 responses. As I analyzed all the an-
swers I noticed that most people who do not attend a gym,
are usually weighing just a few times a month and are usual-
ly doing in a drugstore, in contrast if people who exercise reg-
ularly, they tend to weigh at least 3 times a week. Not a
single user know or are using applications of weight control,
but would like to use one that could compare current weight
with the previous weight and find their icm. Furthermore,
60% of the people want more interaction on the weigh time
and 50% feel better with your body when they are praised.
4. The Process
3º Interection with wii fit
Aiming to observe the interaction of people of different ages
with the wii balance, I asked four people to do a physical as-
sessment of the wii fit. Líbia 40 years had so much fun with
the wii technology and applications and had no problem in
understanding the exercises. Rodrigo 16 years, on the other
hand, presented some impatience with the various screens
conversation and feedback that were appearing between ex-
ercises. Rui 60 years, had much difficulty in understand the
exercise and did not find the data given correct. Gadi 80
years, was guided by me and although she felt some difficul-
ty, seemed to have so much fun with all the screens and their
results. All these experience has given me, many ideas to
build the project.
4º Brainstorm
Time to put all the ideas in post-it.
5. The Process
5º Concept
What will my app do?
Help the users to control their weight, in a practical and safe
way.
Functions:
Receive recent measurements
Show measurements history
Set goals
Show notifications
Who is my app for?
For any user who want or need to control your weight.
How does my app fit in?
Samsung Galaxy S3
Where and when will my app be used?
In any environment that has a Bluetooth scale compatible
with the app. At any time of day, preferably early in the day.
What kind of content will I display?
Profile, Graphics, goals, interactions interfaces.
How can my app use the hardware?
Bluetooth, smart alert, memory.
6. The Process
6º Structure
So with everything in mind, I set up the structure,
the flowchart of screens, of how the application will
work, and the application navigation screens.
7. The Process
7º Sketch-up
After all the structure in place, I started drawing the screens
on a paper, so I could see how many screens would be
required to perform a function, how easy will be to flip to
one screen to another, how properly and well the functions
will work and finally perform a test to make as smooth as
possible to perform all the functions on the app.
8. The Process
8º Visual
Set all the application graphics, such as, what color to be use,
typographies, sizes, the elements arrangements, choose
icons or animation, and among others details.]
9º Prototype
I used illustrator and Photoshop programs to design all appli-
cation interfaces. As I was projecting, I could review and
change some elements.
10º Usability Test
I did not have time to test the screens with users, but noticed
that the application fit the rules of usability. So I print all
screens , so I could test the application with at least 3 mem-
bers, even so in restricted way because I do not have any
Bluetooth scale. So I asked Libia, Rodrigo and Rui, to interact
with the first 3 basic application functions: Registration,
Insert goals, and view graphs. Some difficulties were encoun-
tered initially because it is a prototype of paper and other ne-
cessities that have to be analyzed in the future.

17. Let you know
What were the different stages on your process to create
the proposal?
There were 9 stages as Follow: Similar research, interview,
Wii fit experience, brainstorm, concept, structure, sketch-up,
visual, prototype and usability test.
What were your main setbacks?
TIME! I did not have enough time to do a more detailed
project.
What would you like to do if you had more time to finish
the task?
I would like to insert new functions, improve screens, perform
more tests, So I can improve the application, and find the
wright balance between the App and the user. I also could
analyzed better the error already found on the previews tests.
18. Thank’s for your attention!
