Case #1
Scenario A: Scenario B:
Facts:
Rhianna entered a verbal contract
with Chris Brown to pay for his
knife set. Rhianna then enterers
into a third party agreement with
Beyonce. Since Rhianna didn’t not
relinquish her duties to Beyonce to
pay Chris Brown, she would
remain fully obligated to pay for
the knives if Beyonce reneged
from their agreement.
Facts:
Beyonce entered a written
contract with Chris Brown to pay
the remaining balance of
Rhianna’s debt.
This makes Beyonce obligated to
pay the for the knives.
By doing so, this terminated
Rhianna’s contract by alteration.

Case #1
Scenario A: Scenario B:
Analyze:
According to the law, verbal
contracts are not always as valid
as a written contract. Even though
Beyonce entered into a verbal
contract to pay Rhianna’s
remaining debt, the terms of the
contract are still obligated by the
assignor. So when the new
contract was drawn up by a third
party that doesn’t necessarily
relinquish the responsibility of the
assignor. If the the third party fails
to keep their side of the agreement
the sole assignor is obligated to
uphold the contract and can be
sued.
Analyze:
According to the law, a written
contract has more validation than
an oral agreement. When Beyonce
signed the written agreement to
take the full responsibility of
Rhianna’s debt to Chris Brown by
a set date made Beyonce obligated
to payback Brown. This
terminated Rhianna’s obligations
to pay the remaining debt owed.
By not keeping her end of the
agreement, Beyonce voided the
contract. Since Beyonce took full
responsibility Chris Brown could
sue her for the remaining balance.

Case #1
Scenario A: Scenario B:
Verdict:
After reviewing the case I
determine that Chris Brown has
the strongest argument. Although
Rhianna and Chris Brown may
have entered into a third party
agreement with Beyonce, Rhianna
is still responsible as the sole
assignor if Beyonce doesn’t keep
her end of the contract.
Verdict:
After reviewing the case I
determine that Chris Brown has
the strongest argument. Since
Beyonce signed a written
agreement to pay the remaining
balance of debt owed to Brown
from Rhianna made her
responsible and obligated to
payback the debt.

make all the interior work be done using teak wood. Before beginning
construction of the interior, a beetle epidemic plagues teak trees and 95% of
the trees in the US die. As a result, the only way to get teak is to import it
from Australia at a price five times the amount it could have been bought
here prior to the epidemic. Jay z and TI were force to hire someone else to
finish up the job.

Case #2
Analyze
According to the law, Jay Z and TI entered into a written agreement with
Billy Bob Carter Contracting Services to construct a studio building with
special interior instructions. Billy Bob Carter Contracting Service could not
complete their obligated part of the deal due to a natural cause. This
terminated their contract by impossibility.
9
Case #2
Verdict
After reviewing the evidence, Jay Z and TI and still obligated to pay Billy Bob
Carter Contracting Services for work completed because the breach of
contract was not foreseeable. This made it impossible for Billy Bob Carter
Contracting Service to complete the assigned task.
