The University of Auckland faced challenges in software testing in 2007 including ad-hoc and undocumented testing, no test management tools, and limited security and performance testing. To address this, they implemented a strategy involving standardized processes, training testers in new skills and tools, setting up a dedicated test infrastructure, and emphasizing continuous improvement. As a result, the university now has documented testing processes, automated regression testing, improved security and performance testing, and ongoing efforts to adopt new practices.
