This document outlines two types of decision making: cognitive and emotional. Cognitive decision making is driven by the mind, involves high involvement decisions, aims to optimize decision making through compensatory processes. Emotional decision making is driven by the heart, involves low involvement decisions, aims to satisfice or meet a minimum requirement through non-compensatory decision making.
