1. INTRODUCTION
Demonetization is the act of stripping a currency unit of its
status an legal tender. Demonetization is necessary whenever
there is a change of national currency. The old unit of currency
must be retired and replaced with a new currency unit. The
opposite of demonetization is remonetization where a form of
payment is restored as legal tender. The Indian currency is the
official currency of the Republic of India. The rupee is
subdivided into 100 paise (singular paise), though an of 2011
only 50 paise coins are tender. The issuance of the currency is
controlled by the India. The money circulation in India is
controlled by Reserve Bank of India.
2. OBJECTIVES
The following are the main objectives of the conscientization
programme;
1. To aware the students about the history and background of
demonetization.
2. To make understand about the effects and consequences of
demonetization.
3. To prepare the students, who should use the money properly in
future.
4. To aware the value of the money in the present situation.
3. PREPARATION PHASE
The conscientization programme on the topic Demonetization was
an interesting topic to me to work out. I am alone in the Higher
SecondarySession, so I do the work lonely. I decided to do a power point
presentation and also to gave an assignment based on the topic. I first
draft a rough outline of each slide and gave it to the computer centre.
After the preparation of the programme outline, I took the
permission of the School Principal and fixed the date for the programme.
After that I type the consent letter then it is filled and made it signed by
the Principal.
Then I decided to distribute some duties among the students in my
plus one commerce class. The duties were assigned an follows;

I gave a group activity earlier to the students on the same topic also.
I divide the whole class into 6 groups for this.
4. EXECUTION PHASE
The audiences of our programme were Students of plus one
commerce students, in Govt. Model HSS Venganoor. They gathered in
the Multi Media room. I go the staff room and called the Principal and
other teachers to see my programme. The inagular function was done by
the principal Mr. Santhosh by cutting the ribbon along the Economics
teacher Mrs. Reshmi. The principal wished us good luck too a successful
programme through his speech and also addressed the audience.
The Programme started by a general discussion and showing videos
and Power Point presentation. I talk about the demonetization, history and
also in impacts through slides. Students also asked their doubts and
present their views and opinion.
5. FOLLOW- UP PHASE
As per the response of the audience the programme was 100%
success. The feedbacks from the students were positive. The Economics
teacher also gave good comments. I also present the works and
assignments done by the students through their group activity. I also gave
prize to best group for their work. The result of my hard work and unity
were achieved as valuable responses from the audience and especially
from teacher and principal.
The programme was successful and ended on correct time. I think,
through this programme the students were well known about the merits
and consequences of demonetization.
6. CONCLUSION
As part of our B.Ed Curriculum, I do this Conscientization
programme. Demonetization is one of the present situations that prevailed
in our economy. Through demonetization people suffer many, but they
are the condition prevailed in some months or few days. Now the
conditions were changed a lot. Many illegal activities were found out and
the Government get more tax also.
