GOAL #1
1. I want to study abroad, either in Spain or Rome.
2. I will complete this goal within my four years at Loyola.
3. I am currently looking into study abroad programs and completing my four
year plan so it is possible to study abroad.
GOAL #2
1. I want to continue to practice my Catholic faith and act with Christian
values.
2. This is a life-long goal.
3. While in college, staying involved in ministry and going to Mass will benefit
my relationship with Christ. After school, I will need to find a parish where I
can see myself being involved.
GOAL #3
1. Through playing and coaching, I want to stay involved with soccer and
keep in shape.
2. I can achieve this until I am too old to play. Then or within a few years of
having kids, I can coach.
3. I am currently playing intramurals soccer and running to stay in shape. I
have learned and will continue to learn a lot about coaching from my dad.
GOAL #4
1. I hope to keep service as a main component of my life.
2. By the end of college, I want to travel abroad and perform service work. In
general, service should always be an aspect of my life.
3. I am looking into mission trips to areas like Haiti, Ecuador or Uganda. I can
continue to find smaller service projects like food shelters or helping youth.
Goal #5
1. I want to graduate from Loyola with a B.S. Forensic Science degree.
2. I will graduate in 4 years.
3. I plan to complete this goal by focusing on my studies, creating a four year
plan, and building connections with professors and advisors.
Goal #6
1. After finishing school, I hope to earn a job as a forensic scientist working
with the court system.
2. I want to have a steady job within a year of graduating.
3. I can achieve this by earning my degree, making connections with
professors and completing an internship.
GOAL #7
1. My goal is to keep music a part of my life, especially in my faith life.
2. This is a long-time goal that requires constant dedication.
3. I can achieve this by staying involved with church choir. I would consider
helping with the music ministry at a parish in the future too.
GOAL #8
1. I desire to be a good brother and son or in general, a loving family member.
2. This goal is always a work in progress.
3. To achieve this, I must make an attempt to talk to my sister and parents,
support my young cousins and love my family with all my heart.
Goal #9
1. I want to own a house in a nice neighborhood.
2. I hope to do this when I am married, so a few years after graduating.
3. With a college degree and a good job, I will have money to purchase a
home.
Goal #10
1. I want to have a family, including a dog.
2. This most likely will occur a few years after graduating or when the time is
right.
3. I am preparing for this by meeting new people and learning from my
family. I am going to school so I can provide for my family.
Obstacle #1
1. I try to do too much or I overload myself.
2. This creates unnecessary chaos in my life. When I focus on one thing, I
often forget about something else.
3. I can organize my events, homework and assignments by using a calendar.
I should look for moderation in my life, rather than thinking that I can do
everything.
Obstacle #2
1. I aim for the stars meaning I have high expectations of myself and in a way,
I am a perfectionist.
2. This has its benefits and disadvantages. When I don’t achieve the level of
quality I desired, I beat myself up for it and act depressed when I should be
looking for a way to correct the error.
3. I need to know that failure is just part of the process. I can learn a lot from
my mistakes.
Obstacle #3
1. I hate oral presentations in front of a large group.
2. This fear hurts my chances of being a strong, vocal leader. It also makes me
worry about a presentation for a class and it hurts my participation grade.
3. I hope taking a speech class soon will give me more confidence. Forcing
myself to speak in class will help gradually.
Obstacle #4
1. I have regrets. I often think back to a situation and how I could have
changed it.
2. Too often, I think about how I could have done something better when
there is no opportunity to change it. Regrets hold me back from enjoying the
present.
3. While I learn from my mistakes, I also need to live in the present and focus
on the blessings I have currently. I should recognize the things that will make
me happy now and forget about the past failures.
1. I constantly worry.
Obstacle #5
2. While it may just be because I analyze every little detail, worrying causes
so much unneeded stress. It also makes me spend time thinking about
whether something’s going to happen or not. I often sit in class on the day of
a presentation thinking, “I hope I don’t have to present.”
3. I should realize that everything happens for a reason, often as a learning
experience. There are no coincidences, only God instances. I can use my faith
as a source of confidence and a way to calm down.
