This document discusses different design thinking tools for gathering user insights:
- Cultural probes involve giving participants self-documentation packages like postcards, maps, cameras to provide insights into their emotions, values, and experiences when direct observation is not practical. One study used these probes to understand experiences of international students in Australia.
- Customer journey maps document touchpoints and experiences across a service to better understand the user perspective.
- Service safaris involve design professionals directly experiencing customer interactions with a service to identify exemplary aspects and opportunities for improvement. One example discussed Uber service safaris.
- The Five Whys technique helps uncover root causes by asking "why" something occurred five levels deep.

This project was done as a pilot project of the Illahee Institute. There were four of us in our Participatory Design class who decided to take it on. We started by doing secondary research to become more familiar with the health care system, followed by primary research interviews with various stakeholders in the system. We went through a lot of work to decide at what level of detail we wanted to define our stakeholders, and then just started in trying to understand the relationships between them. Our final iterations are based on the maps that we made with participants in our workshop. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to share our maps with Wendell Potter and a group of key individuals in the health care system. We were given a positive response and gathered some ideas as to how we could take this project further in the future.
- The DesignMonkeys team sought to increase bicycle commuting in Portland by addressing safety concerns that prevent many from cycling, especially women.
- They drew inspiration from biological communication strategies like bioluminescence and swarming. This led them to create Bikeship.org, a website and network allowing bicycle commuters to connect and ride together for safety in numbers.
- Key aspects include orange LED lights mounted on spokes to identify members, a smartphone app to locate others, and recommending additional front/back lights for safety compliance. The goal is to appeal to Portland's large "Interested but Concerned" demographic and increase regular ridership.

1) Increase recycling awareness among residents and encourage proper recycling practices.
2) Educate residents about city laws and regulations regarding recycling.
3) See substantial results in recycling participation and have Mt. Washington rank in the top 12 most improved neighborhoods for recycling by 2009.
Surveys of local college students show most are willing to recycle if it is easier and encouraged, indicating the campaign could successfully increase recycling in the area.

Needs Statement and Management Plan
As a leading Committee member in my community, our focus and agenda are to create awareness on why it important to vote in local elections.
Made out of residents in our local community, mothers, teachers, small business owners and neighbors we noticed a pattern where most community members don’t see the importance and urgency in participating in elections taking place in their local community. Regardless of who their candidate of choice is and what they represent, the voter turnout remains low.
In our efforts since creating our organization, we work on creating awareness of the topics that local community members care about, striving to show how their vote matters when it comes to creating change or establishing an idea they can relate to. Our efforts include phone-calls, flyers and posters, door-knocking, local community meetings, and social media ads and discussion forums.
We aim these efforts towards local business owners, families with children, and low wage employees in the community. These groups overall as many of us and others are consumed with their day to day activities and tasks to the point where they are not able to follow and be informed of new initiatives that are proposed, issues that may help or hurt them down the line, or issues that could help them achieve better quality of life. From data collected the low turnout is caused by not seeing any positive outcomes out of local elections, and not being in the loop and dedicate the time to know and understand what is happening. Our efforts create a topic for discussion for all so by the time it is time to vote they are part of the solutions and participate in it.
To fund such a project, we are in direct contact with local city officials and state officials where they can allocate funds towards helping us create such awareness through community meetings and ads, but the funds allocated are not enough to fund our cause fully. Residents also can donate to our efforts, with their time and money, and so accordingly and we appreciate all their contributions. Above all, we encourage our residents to contribute their time by discussing our agenda and local issues with their friends and neighbors and spread the word.
To achieve higher funding opportunities, we are turning to non-profits organizations across the country such as “non-profit vote”, “common America”, “Let America Vote” and more (Bustle.com, 2020). Such institutions assist local communities in reaching voting engagement in their community.
As mentioned above, the essence of the problem where the community has had low turnout in elections had been sourced mainly to a disconnect between local officials and the raising issues, to the day to day families and businesses that are the core of the community. While the issues on hand had the most impact on such individuals, they were least consulted or given a voice fo.

Euro 2024 Belgium's Rebirth the New Generation Match the Golden Era.docxEticketing.co
The Golden Group is over. Can a new group step up? Two years ago, Kevin De Bruyne plunged Belgium’s Euro 2024 plans into disorder when he claimed the team was “too old” to win in an interview with The Protector. That Belgian squad had 10 players over 30 and the maximum average age of any Euro Cup 2024 team at the competition. A group-stage exit and just one goal at the World Cup put Belgium on course for a restructure.

Coach Domenico Tedesco has managed a tactical shakeup and a regular exit for some of the oldest players. Experienced bests remain, not least the 37-year-old Jan Vertonghen in defense, the 32-year-old De Bruyne himself in midfield, and 31-year-old Romelu Lukaku up visible.
Still, younger actors like De Bruyne’s Manchester City partner Jeremy Doku bring fresh vitality to the team. Euro Cup Germany Qualifying unbeaten with just four goals allowed from eight games was a welcome sign of accomplishment back on track under Tedesco.
The only other squad in Group E besides Belgium to UEFA Euro 2024 qualify unbeaten, Romania was awestruck by winning a group that also checked Switzerland and Israel. Still, Euro 2024 will test a squad sorely lacking in top-level skill.
Euro 2024: Belgium's Transition from Golden Generation to New Hope
Tottenham guardian Vlad Dragusin is the only Euro Cup 2024 squad member singing regularly for one of Europe’s top clubs this flavor. He even played only nine Premier League games since adoption in January. Goalkeeper Horatiu Moldovan is a stoppage at Atletico Madrid.
There’s a link to the beauty days of Romanian soccer with midfielder Ianis Hagi, son of Gheorghe Hagi, who assisted the team to the rounds of the 1994 World Cup and Euro 2000.
We are only a combine of days away from the UEFA Euro 2024 curtain raiser. The 24 squads are winding up their provisions and getting ready to give it their all to life the wanted Euro Cup Final trophy on July 14. Spread across six clusters, the first hurdle in the knockout phase will be the plump of 16.

Germany and Scotland will take things off before we get into overdrive in two weeks. Meanwhile, Belgium will be longing to bounce back after a horrendous 2022 FIFA World Cup movement, which ended in the group stage.
