• Qualifications that signify completion of the third cycle are awarded to
students who:
– have demonstrated a systematic understanding of a field of study and mastery of
the skills and methods of research associated with that field.
– have demonstrated the ability to conceive, design, implement and adapt a
substantial process of research with scholarly integrity.
– have made a contribution through original research that extends the frontier of
knowledge by developing a substantial body of work, some of which merits
national or international refereed publication.
– are capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex
ideas.
– can communicate with their peers, the larger scholarly community and with
society in general about their areas of expertise;
– can be expected to be able to promote, within academic and professional
contexts, technological, social or cultural advancement in a knowledge based
society.
European Qualification Framework for Higher Education
IUBMB STANDARDS
 General and detailed (according to thesis) professional knowledge (= understanding
experimental productive methods rather than conclusions)
 Ability to abstract from literature the useful information: reasoning, strategies,
material and methods, models of evaluation, interpretation, areas of controversy,
areas which require exploration.
 Recognition of meaningful problems and questions for research
 Choose from multiple pathways and to define attainable objectives, testable
hypothesis with appropriate controls self-directed research acceptable by scientific
community and develop models… (creativity and imagination )….
 Laboratory skills wide enough to manage and develop according to needs but not
become a technician. "interdisciplinarity is a characteristic of present-day research"
 Oral, written, visual communication skills and ethical aspects of collaborative work
(give value to the others) and honesty. "the value of scientific research depends on
the effective communication of results and their interpretation to the scientific
community"

 c) Los titulados universitarios que, previa obtención de plaza en formación en la
correspondiente prueba de acceso a plazas de formación sanitaria especializada,
hayan superado con evaluación positiva al menos dos años de formación de un
programa para la obtención del título oficial de alguna de las especialidades en
Ciencias de la Salud.

  • 2. • Qualifications that signify completion of the third cycle are awarded to students who: – have demonstrated a systematic understanding of a field of study and mastery of the skills and methods of research associated with that field. – have demonstrated the ability to conceive, design, implement and adapt a substantial process of research with scholarly integrity. – have made a contribution through original research that extends the frontier of knowledge by developing a substantial body of work, some of which merits national or international refereed publication. – are capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas. – can communicate with their peers, the larger scholarly community and with society in general about their areas of expertise; – can be expected to be able to promote, within academic and professional contexts, technological, social or cultural advancement in a knowledge based society. IUBMB STANDARDS  General and detailed (according to thesis) professional knowledge (= understanding experimental productive methods rather than conclusions)  Ability to abstract from literature the useful information: reasoning, strategies, material and methods, models of evaluation, interpretation, areas of controversy, areas which require exploration.  Recognition of meaningful problems and questions for research  Choose from multiple pathways and to define attainable objectives, testable hypothesis with appropriate controls self-directed research acceptable by scientific community and develop models… (creativity and imagination )….  Laboratory skills wide enough to manage and develop according to needs but not become a technician. "interdisciplinarity is a characteristic of present-day research"  Oral, written, visual communication skills and ethical aspects of collaborative work (give value to the others) and honesty. "the value of scientific research depends on the effective communication of results and their interpretation to the scientific community"

Acceso  c) Los titulados universitarios que, previa obtención de plaza en formación en la correspondiente prueba de acceso a plazas de formación sanitaria especializada, hayan superado con evaluación positiva al menos dos años de formación de un programa para la obtención del título oficial de alguna de las especialidades en Ciencias de la Salud.
