  • #6 printed 1/11/07 Daily - generally Mavis Beacon – first 30 minutes of each class – skill builder Lecture – cover new topics or skills Hands on – putting new skills into practice Exercises (Skill Builders) – repeating the skill on your own Assignments – Assessments/Critical Thinking – practical application of skills Some days will be strictly work days – completing unfinished work, assessments, critical thinking exercises, extra credit, etc. OPAC – to measure your skills as they would be measured by an employment agency – no surprises!

If you know you will be out notify me in advance so we can make arrangements for you make up work. WPM – is based on adjusted after errors. You will not be failed if you do not reach 40wpm but I will work with you to ensure you reach that speed. Best way to achieve success in this class – come to class and do the work. You will be expected to turn in assignments Hands on – introduction Skill Builders – opportunity for you to repeat what you’ve learned Assessments – practical application Critical Thinking – you will be given a scenario – you will apply skills just learned Participation – Just as in a business setting you will be expected to work and participate with fellow employees.
