Compliance 201 - Advanced Use of the Diditsuzannedubarry
This presentation outlines how a Didit® is used in a very complicated scenario where someone needs to take various meds at different times and includes pills and drops. If you are looking for an effective simple solution to help with compliance, this is the tool, the Didit®. It’s a patented, and proven effective, device that is unique in its simple solution to keeping track of when a med is taken. The Didit® is attached right on the vial as a tracking device; tabs indicating the day of the week are flipped over each time a dose is taken. All the record keeping and memory chores are handled at the source, right on the vial or container. Many benefits, Didits come in different colors so color coding can be used to indicate various things, including who the med belongs to, what type of med is in the container, what time of day the med is to be taken, and so on.
The Didit® is a very powerful yet simple tool. Please contact Suzanne DuBarry at 888.343.4886 x700 with any questions or comments.

MANAGEMENT OF ATRIOVENTRICULAR CONDUCTION BLOCK.pdfJim Jacob Roy
Cardiac conduction defects can occur due to various causes.
Atrioventricular conduction blocks ( AV blocks ) are classified into 3 types.
This document describes the acute management of AV block.
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

Here is a more advanced presentation on the use of the Didit.
The Didit is a small plastic product that easily ATTACHES to any vial or container It has tabs marked with the days of the week, which can be adjusted to indicate whether or not the medication has been taken. Here it is, as simple as 1,2,3. Stick it on, Click it over, and know you Didit! …Just flip over the day you take your med. … On the third photo you can see it was taken on Monday and Tuesday. No questions asked. No doubt, no wondering. Stick it on, flip it over, your done, and you know you Didit. With your refill, just pull it off the old container and put it on the new one.
For once or twice a day, and every other day type scenarios, the Didit with the days of the week is used. But wait, there’s more.
There is also a solution for multiple times in a day, the Didit Counter… Taking eye drops four times a day is no longer a challenge to track… and the Didit can be right on the bottle. It can also be attached to a refrigerator, a key chain, even a medicine cabinet; anywhere it is convenient for the person who needs to keep track. It comes standard with re-attachable adhesive but permanent adhesive is also available. It gets better.
Customize your Didit for whatever works for you. Can you tell which one you take three times a day? ….How many you take a day is easy to customize with the help of one black marker. Yes, it can be just that simple.
I can color code so I know when to take my meds, …. I take thyroid and it’s first thing in the morning … so I have use a yellow Didit. …. By the way, did I mention I keep my medication in the original container…???
It can also indicate how to take, … Orange, for me, means a full stomach. Each person can design their own system.
Well, … Red, for me, is going to be heart medication.
Her is an example where both a husband and wife are using hormone replacement therapy. They both have creams that come in very small applicators. The yellow is his and the pink is hers. Pretty easy to see.
[Part 1:] Let’s create a patient scenario with a VERY COMPLICATED regimen. Once a day, twice, even four times a day, morning, evening, and even every other day… Can you imagine organizing this with pill trays or beeping caps? Do you need to make a chart and have a pen handy? Actually, I’m going to show you how this can be really easy, no pill tray and no pen or chart required. All the information will be right on the bottle. Again, the point I want to show, is that even with a very complicated regimen, it’s actually very simple. Most situations will be much less complicated.
[Part 1]Let’s just say we’ve got a patient who got cholesterol problems, diabetes, thyroid, let’s give him a list a list of things that they have, and then let’s turn around and decide what would be the best way to use Didits so they know exactly what they have to take and how often. Here are the groups. Let’s take a closer look and see if it makes sense.
Let’s break it down.Everyone can design a system that is meaningful to them, … this is what would be meaningful for me. Yellow is like the morning sunshine. When I first wake up, I’ll think yellow. With thyroid meds taken in the morning. I’ll use a yellow Didit. It’s one time a day, so I’ll ink out the 2 since I won’t be using it.Blue, the sky gets to be a darker blue as the evening sets in, so that will be for the evening cholesterol med. It’s one a day, so ink out the 2.For “take on a full stomach”, we’ll go with orange and ink out the 2.All of our one a day, with special requirements are color coded and marked for 1 time a day. This is group one.Additional notes:Again, there is nothing to stop someone from also putting an A, for a.m., or P, for p.m., and F, for full stomach, on the lid as additional information. Most will not require it, but some groups will.Morning is Yellow, so we put that on the Thyroid medications that needs to be taken in the morning.Evening is Blue, so we put that on the Cholesterol med that should be taken in the evening. With Food is Orange so this goes on the Potassium. We see the two is inked out, we don’t see it, so we know this is only one time a day.
We have three meds that are taken twice a day. We can see the 2, and so it is clear it is taken twice a day. Drops and pills, not a problem, simple, it’s all good. The first time in the day, flip the day, and in the evening, flip the 2. The next morning, flip the next day and reset the two in the up position. This is our second group.
For every other day, I like to put stripes over the two, the stripes leave GAPS, … and there are GAPS in my meds, as in every other day. At a glance … it becomes VERY EASY to track every other day. Here we use hot pink with the dashes and we put that on the folic acid.On the bottle, we see the four numbers staring at us and we know these drops are going to be taken 4 times a day. Each time a dose is taken, the number is flipped over. This will be reset each morning.Note: You can use two stripes for every other day, and three stripes for every third day.
Now that we have all our meds with Didits, … let’s see how effective it is, …
These are all once a day, …
These are all twice a day, you can see the 2.
Here we have every other day and 4 times a day. On the next slide, we are going to see how things would look if someone was actively using this program. If you show up at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, will you be able to tell AT A GLANCE what they have taken, or not? I say yes!
So what do you think, can you figure it out?
One of the most significant findings in all clinical trials is that people don’t want to be reminded to take their medications. What they say is, “I just want to know if I Didit!” So, …. Use a Didit, so you know you did!
Please feel free to contact me. And, thank you for your time. As someone who has to take a daily med, I know the importance of compliance and I also know what it is to be occasionally forgetful. I hear stories everyday of how Didits have helped change peoples lives. Let’s get the Didits in more peoples hands and realize the tremendous cost savings that will follow. I love that we can Save Lives and Save Money by Improving Medication Adherence. Let’s do what we can right away.
