Background
● CherishX is an event planner company spread across 13 Indian cities and
shipping decoration and party supplies across the country.
● CherishX provides services in birthday decorations, kid’s celebrations (such
as baby shower, naming ceremony, etc.), anniversary planning & decorations,
and party and decoration supplies.
● As such, we would want CherishX to be ranking for both: broad keywords
e.g., “birthday decoration” (because we provide services across multiple
cities) and local keywords e.g., “delhi birthday decoration”.
Keyword Ranking: Overview
● Keywords CherishX ranks for: 11.8K (Desktop) + 215 (Mobile)
● Traffic in the last 12 months: 204.4K (Desktop) + 153.6K (Mobile)
● One important thing to note is that most of our traffic (~95%) comes from
non-branded keywords i.e., users search for services (e.g., birthday
decoration) and end up on our website. This makes sense for a service
provider like us.
Top Keywords
CherishX gets about a third of
its total traffic from these 7
keywords. Most of these are
broad keywords with high
traffic, but we also likely get
good amount of traffic from
local keywords e.g., “birthday
decoration bangalore” and
“birthday decoration delhi”.
Competitor Analysis: Desktop
7eventzz.com ranks for fewer keywords but has higher traffic. It could be because either they’re
ranking higher for the same keywords or they’re ranking for keywords with higher traffic.
Competitor Analysis: Mobile
7eventzz.com ranks for more keywords and has higher traffic on mobile devices. On mobile
devices, a few more competitors start to pop up e.g., njpartyshop.com and partycity.com.

What Ferns and Petals is doing better?
● Ferns and Petals ranks #1 for broad keywords such as “birthday decoration”,
“birthday decoration ideas”, “anniversary decoration”, etc. However, it trails
CherishX on local keywords e.g., “birthday decoration delhi”, “birthday
decoration bangalore”, etc.
● Ferns and Petals is a well known brand with TV ads featuring celebrities.
This helps create a level of trust and demand for their products. Secondly, I
imagine a significant portion of traffic comes from branded keywords for Ferns
and Petals.
How is 7eventzz.com beating us at our game?
● SEMRush clearly shows 7eventzz as the winner. It ranks better on
high-volume keywords and gets higher traffic. Upon further investigation, I
found that although 7eventzz ranks better on broad keywords, CherishX beats
7eventzz on some local keywords.
● 7eventzz also ranks #1 for “balloon decoration”. In the last 1 year, CherishX,
which received 165K traffic (2.4%) from this keyword, has lost ranking for this
keyword from the first page.
● 7eventzz has a great collection of short videos with very good reach on
YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
Some other competitors are nailing it too
● Party Propz (partypropz.com) comes first on Amazon for “birthday
decoration”, “balloon decoration”, etc. with CherishX products in no sight.
● Experience Saga (experiencesaga.com) appears first from Google Maps
results for “anniversary decoration delhi”. Party Dost (partydost.com) ranks
#1 for “anniversary decoration delhi” in web results and has good ranking for
some other local keywords. Haplun and TogetherV too have good search
rankings (although trailing CherishX) for “anniversary decoration delhi”.
Tips to improve our marketing/ ranking
● Encourage buyers to click pictures and make videos of our products/ services
and upload them on Instagram tagging us.
● Upload pictures and especially short videos of real events organised by
CherishX on Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.
● There is no major seller for decoration items on Flipkart, we can easily
capture Flipkart in this category. Work on improving our ranking on Amazon.
● In the long run, a strong brand such as Ferns and Petals can monopolize the
market. So, we need to start focusing on brand awareness too.
