Understanding the Model
 The cycle that everyone goes through when learning something new is
called the Conscious Competence Ladder.
Noel Burch developed the Conscious Competence Ladder in the 1970s.
It helps us understand our thoughts and emotions during the learning
process.
The model highlights two factors that affect our thinking as we learn a
new skill , awareness and skill level

1: Unconscious Incompetence
•It means an individual is unaware that there is a need of skill development.
•Not aware of a skill you lack
‘I don’t know, what I don’t know’

2: Conscious Incompetence
Aware that you lack a skill
 You've discovered that you need to learn new skills.
‘I know about it, but I’m not very good in it’

3: Conscious Competence
This requires a person to think but person knows how to perform a skill.
At this level, You put your learning into practice regularly, and you gain even
more confidence as you use your new skills.
‘I know how, but I need to think about it
and concentrate on what I have to do’

4: Unconscious Competence:
At this level, you use your new skills effortlessly, and you perform tasks without
conscious effort. You are completely confident of success.
‘I know, I can do it’
