The North Attleborough
Community Gardens
@ Codding Farm
Introduction
• The Codding Farm at 217 High
Street has been the family
homestead for two separate
families, who both became
leading names in the jewelry
industry during two separate
centuries.
• In 2001 Suzanne LeStage sold the
land which consisted of 58 acres
and buildings at 217 High Street to
the town of North Attleborough.
• In 2006 The the Board of
Selectmen divided the property.
The Historical Commission was
given stewardship of the house,
barn, and 3.8 acres of land.
• The North Attleborough
Historical Commission was
successful in working with a
preservation consultant to list
approximately four acres and
the buildings on the National
Register of Historic Places on
April 22, 2009.
• In 2013 the Historical Commission
constructed 25 raised garden beds and
began the Community Gardens.
• In 2016 there are 30 raised garden
beds.
• In 2017 the garden beds will be moved
closer to the house. It is anticipated
that there will be space for 50 raised
garden beds will be available for the
2017 growing season.
Vision Statement
• The North Attleborough Community
