Editor's Notes
Amy, 1) insert the photo of the people collecting signatures at the Coos County fair. Have caption under it saying “College supporters collecting signatures at the Coos County Fair to put the College District on the ballot in 1961” 2) Have a second slide pop in on the same page that shows the actual ballot (I think a copy is in the boilerplate file; ask Barb to look for it) 3) Have a third image pop onto the same page of The World front page the day after the election. Barb, the local library has all those newspapers on microfiche. I looked them up once. It should be the Wednesday after the second or third or fourth Tuesday of September in 1961. Call Teri Turi at Coos County Courthouse at 756-2020 x302 and ask what day is always election day. 4) Barb, it is possible that the election was actually in 1960, but check out that book on “The first 25 years.” It tells all that information so you can find the right time to check the newspaper microfiche
Amy, have three or four pictures pop in onto this page. All this should be happening by click of the mouse so what you are really doing is creating three or four pages, each one has an additional picture on it. I don’t want to time it and make it automatic like a movie because that would foul up whoever is reading the script if they get off time. 2) Use a photo of the vacant forest with the lakes; there are some in the new aerials I gave you a few months back 3) Next put in a photo of the clearing that shows the footprint of Umpqua and Sitkum (I think that’s what it is, I’ll have to double check). Put a caption under it that says “Umpqua and Sitkum construction begins” 4) You need to verify what was built in “The First 25 years” and then have photos of the other buildings in that 1960’s construction pop in with a caption under each. Use construction photos if you have them, or old photos of the completed buildings. 5) Be sure to include a photo of Tioga when it was only 2 stories and a photo of the main walk when the pine trees were tiny. This may take several slides

Performing Arts Center photo pops in. I’ll do narrative of the number of events per year Coos Art Museum photo with the banner for Expressions West and/or Visions up. The show is showing right now and you could get photos right now of the front of the building and the gallery with the show up. I’ll do a narrative about Visions and Expressions. Use two or three photos (outside, the gallery and the upstairs gallery for high school competition) The lobby of the PAC with all the art exhibited. I’ll comment on the collection A montage of the sculptures on campus (Barb took some good pictures for her publication). I’ll write a narrative about the collection. Be sure to get all the pieces and have them pop onto a slide Music and Theater. Have some photos pop onto a slide and I’ll talk about our community music, band and theater programs
