2. Spreadsheet Error #1 Too many spreadsheets. This sounds obvious but one major spreadsheet error is having a workbook that is too big and contains multiple links to other spreadsheets and/or worksheets Main problem: links can easily break and person viewing spreadsheet will not be understand how final answer is derived.
3. Spreadsheet Error #2 Links to outside workbooks While a great idea in theory, I have seen many spreadsheet break down because of links to outside workbooks. Solution: Have links only to worksheets within own workbook
4. Spreadsheet Error #3 Lack of Summary Page A summary page is of the utmost importance especially for large workbooks that contain many different variables. Executive staff does not want to view a 45 page workbook. Just 1-2 pages summarizing answer Summary must contain a list of assumptions that can easily be changed and then update all spreadsheets in workbook
5. Spreadsheet Error #4 Naming of Workbook Again, this seems obvious but make sure to label each workbook that you work on as a new version i.e TradeCenterv.1, TradeCenter v.2, etc
6. Spreadsheet Error #5 Formatting! A poorly formatted spreadsheet will not garner the appropriate level of attention from executive staff. ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS KEY!!
