Fire Safety Violations
Here are some of the most common violations
found during routine inspections of commercial
sites.
Street Address
Missing or non-visible street address on the
front of the building.
Emergency Lighting
Exit signs and other safety lighting are not
working properly.
Fire Alarm/Sprinkler
Fire Sprinkler, alarm or hood systems that have
not been recently tested.
Sprinkler Obstruction
Fire sprinkler heads blocked by high stacked
materials.
Fire Extinguishers
Fire Extinguishers that are not present, visible or
operable.
Extension Cords
Extension cords as a substitute for permanent
wiring.
Blocked Exits
Exits that are blocked or obstructed from proper
use.
Combustibles
Combustible materials are not safely stored or
are stored in exit enclosures.
Electrical Covers
Circuit panels, junction boxes or other
significant electrical outlets are not properly
covered.
Clearance Space
Electrical panels are not accessible.
Electrical panels have less than a 3ft minimum clearance space in
the front and 2.5ft or the width of the equipment, whichever is
greater.
