Introduction
This is a training module about common book repairs. The following slides are
broken down into sections specific to module content. The sections in this
module are as follows:
• Terminology (common words/phrases related to book repair)
• Tools of the Trade (basic tools used during the repair process)
• Common Book Repairs (popular types of book repairs)
• Video Tutorials (materials from Brodart related to book repair)
• Vendor/Book Repair Links (additional information outside of the module)
There is also a testing section which is a part of the overall performance

Assignment 12.2
Introduction
Design of Module
This module is based on the style of blended instruction/learning. It uses a mixture
of digital and traditional means of knowledge transfer. While the gist of the module
is digital, there will be printed versions of some of the module’s materials
(terminology, repair instructions, etc.). However, a significant part of the
instructional process will involve hands-on learning, specifically simulations of
book repairs.
Assessments
Testing will be based on performance and knowledge of book repairs
covered within the module. Most of the testing will come via face-to-face
simulations, though a part of it will be in written format. Participants scoring
above 70% in both the simulation and written test will be considered passing,
though additional training may be needed depending on individual scores.
