3. Sugar has been waiting for you to come visit
She sits in the window and watches for you every day!
4. The house Where my Pop Grew up
Jerry owns it now, it’s right where you turn to come see me! My Great Grandfather built this and the stones for the wall and
foundation came from the fields when they plowed
6. Zooming In – Jerry’s Front Yard
And a Sign that says Gregson Pump Service – Since 1925 (My Pop’s Father started it)
7. Back to Gregson Rd – the Road I walk each Day
I’ll show you the neighborhood! Come on! It’s a good walk – a half mile up and half mile back
8. The House Behind the Gregson Home Place
My Aunt Clara (Pop’s Sis) lived here in her later years, after I was in college (before that she lived with her parents in the home
place), Jerry rents this now and Heathen, the antisocial Rottweiler, lives here. Aunt Clara was my best friend when I was a little
girl – she gave me my love of cats and plants. She played with me and took time to be with me. I miss her! Maybe that’s why
my house is full of plants and cats! And clutter! Yikes! Just like Aunt Clara! I’m an old lady!
13. Just past Annie Lou’s, you can almost see my
house
Well – I mean Mom’s house, she just lets me live there
14. There’s my house
That’s Helen’s house you can barely see in the trees here
Helen is also a Gregson – she is George’s sister – she and Annie Lou are both Quakers
15. Helen’s House (and Buddy and Little Boy)
Buddy and Little Boy come to my door when I’m home and ask for me to come out and pet them….they are sweet! It’s Little
Boy’s job to make sure the squirrels stay in the trees, he trees them as good as a coon-dog could.
16. My Driveway and Mailbox
Those are signs about no trespassing – folks like to come down here and investigate the woods sometimes.
17. My House and Garage
Finally! You are here! And there is Lynx sitting out front.
18. My Front yard and part of the pretty little
Dogwood
I used to have to get switches from this tree, but I love her anyway
that thick just bush-hogged area on the right is where my garden was
19. Sugar Says you’re here!
Simha is beside her up in the cat tree in the other window, but he’s invisible in him black self
20. Gabby Says – “Don’t step on me! I’m Sunbathing”
Momma says – “I need to wash the window!” Oh good – a lot of that is the reflection of my grass :-)
22. The babies are bored and cold! This was a rainy
day
Notice the electric plug coming from this blankie – it was cold In February so they ALL wanted to be on the blankie!
And here, the girls actually
coexisting in the same space!
But look at their ears – they
are “watching” each other
23. Taz in the Shade around back
He is such a good boy and he loves it here! So much room to explore and roam
(with mom’s supervision of course).
24. The view from my backdoor
The old barn is on the right – the roof is caving in – lots of good memories there, the granary is on the left, I used to play in all
of these old buildings – it was fun to explore all the nooks and crannies and find treasures!……
25. The boys check things out down by the Barn
They are probably smelling deer and raccoon, something climbs up in the
barn and eats the barn-cat’s food that Helen puts out
26. The Granary
See the old gas pump in the “garage” on the right? Wish it still had gas…….
Mom says the door needs painting – the fig bush is hiding on the left
27. The back view of the Garage
With the chicken house in the background, the chicken “yard” (fence) is gone.
28. My biggest yard area - pretty little maple
I call it the side yard, between the Granary , Garage, Barn to Chicken house,
Helen helps me mow it, thank goodness!
29. Taz’s House and Kitchen is by my Back Porch
Under the Guest Room windows and the bathroom window
(the bath window is the smaller one on the right that is higher, it’s in my shower)
30. The rest of Taz’s area
That’s a big Camelia bush under my bedroom window (last window on right) the attic window is above it
31. Another View of the Front YardThe driveway circles around the house – this is a much better view of the pretty little dogwood tree! One of at
least two persimmon trees is to the right of the dogwood – Taz likes persimmons and figs! (yes and poop!)
32. The “Shuffle Board” yard
With cardboard that’s been down all summer waiting for me to cover it with dirt and plant something – Taz investigates, and
yes, there is a shuffle board in this yard – used for riding tricycles in my day
36. Looking Towards the Fields – The Weekend
Route
Taz and I walk back this way on the weekends – lots of exploring to do, it’s a half mile from the house to the creek
37. Taz brings up the Rear
He is too busy smelling to keep up as we walk down the Field Road
38. At the Top of the Hill
Before walking down into the first wooded area
39. Map of the Land
Property Lines Are in Red, Water areas are Aqua colored –there are small streams all around the land
40. The Weekend Path – in Yellow
We walk to the creek/stream and play around a while then we walk back a slightly different route that ends behind the barn
The satellite sites and map sites have it wrong, Gregson Rd actually ends where my
property starts – I think that may be why we get people exploring sometimes. This
shows it going way down on the adjacent farm’s land all the way to their old dairy
barn. There is a gate going into this farm so they try my farm road instead.
41. Back to the walk
walking down into the trees from the fields
66. Step
into
my
side
(main)
doorStraight ahead is my
little “hall” with my
bedroom to the left,
my bath straight
ahead, and my guest
room to the right.
That window you see
is looking out into
Taz’s lot and the
shuffle board yard.
67. You
are
in
my
Office
That doorway you can see is to my kitchen, the
doorway to the living room is directly across from that
on the other side of the office (to the left of the hall)
72. And
into
The
Living
Room
This front door never
gets used, but that
massage chair and
couch do – the
kitties have claimed
the other chair – it
has an electric
blankie. (and Gabby
likes the massage
chair in the morning
so he can sunbathe)
73. Gabby says, this heated blankie is the best!
Books original to the
house on this shelf
These plants are up high
because Simha and Sugar
like to eat them
