Columbus CyberKnife celebrates its third anniversary of providing stereotactic body radiation therapy using CyberKnife technology at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. Since opening in 2010, the center has treated nearly 600 cancer patients from Central Ohio and neighboring states. Columbus CyberKnife offers the only CyberKnife program in Central Ohio and is one of three providers in the state. The medical director notes the expertise of the team in providing this specialized cancer treatment, which tracks and adjusts for tumor movement with minimal radiation exposure and side effects for patients. Prostate cancer accounts for about 30 percent of cases treated.
