in 2006 with an aim to build an off-
road RV that could follow a 4WD any-
where, but also provide all the creature
comforts without having to rough it
under canvas.
Whilst an off-road caravan will take
you to a lot of great places, the Vista RV
Crossover is designed to go much fur-
ther and follow you to those places that
a traditional RV could only dream of go-
ing. Thanks to its compact dimensions,
the Vista RV will tuck neatly behind
your tow vehicle making it a very fuel
efficient RV to tow, and it doesn’t miss
out on storage space either thanks to its
clever packaging.

EXTERNAL FEATURES
The Crossover comes standard with
this triangular sail awning, as well as
the option of a full tent annex and
ensuite. It’s easy to see from this view
that the ground clearance on offer
makes the Vista a serious off-road RV.
Here’s one of the really unique
features on the Vista RV Crossover.
This is Vista’s MS Series independ-
ent suspension, and thanks to the
design and engineering that has
gone into it, the MS Series setup
allows the Crossover to literally
follow you anywhere. This setup
gives the Vista RV the benefits of
true straight line tracking, meaning
you steer the Vista and not vice-
versa. There’s also up to 13 inches
of wheel travel on offer thanks to
the MS Series suspension. Vista
RV ensures a smooth ride by only
using high-quality King springs and
Koni shocks.
The Crossover’s unique design makes it aerodynamically efficient, which means you
use less fuel to tow it. Its compact external dimensions allow the Vista RV to fit neatly
behind your tow vehicle; this also allows it to fit inside a standard garage when not
in use. An optional cover is available to protect your Crossover from the elements. It
even has a zip-out panel so the cover can be in use when you’re using the Vista.

The interior of the Crossover provides all the essential comforts of home, like a full size
queen bed and an upright fridge/freezer. The bed folds away during the day to reveal
chairs and a table. The table is gas assisted, so when it’s in the down position all it takes is
a twist of a knob and the table brings itself up to full height. With the pop-top up there is
plenty of headroom and extra light provided by the mesh windows. A hatch at the front of
the Crossover allows for cross-ventilation, perfect for those balmy summer nights.
Every Vista RV Crossover comes with
LT265/75 R16 Cooper Discoverer S/T
All-Terrain tyres fitted standard. This
means that the Crossover is ready for
adventure straight off the showroom
floor. Those Coopers are wrapped
around a set of tough six-stud 16in steel
rims which are slowed down by a pair of
heavy-duty electric off-road brakes.
At the rear of the cabin you’ll find more
bench space and a second sink with
another pressurised tap. A Waeco 80L
fridge/freezer takes care of your food
and beverages and a CD player/AM-FM
radio keeps you entertained. There’s
plenty of storage space inside and out-
side of the Crossover and the cupboard
on the left of frame even allows you to
hang up some of your clothes.
There’s ample storage on the Vista RV. These
two lockers are joined by a double jerry can
holder (hidden behind the locker door in this
image), a larger locker up front and a boot on
the draw bar, another hidey hole under the
nose cone, two more jerry can holders and
two 4.5kg gas bottle holders.
All up there is 1,871 litres of combined stor-
age space! If you can’t find somewhere to put
it in the Crossover, you’re packing too much.

UNIQUE SELLING POINTS
The Vista RV features two pressu-
rised water taps and there’s this hand
pump tap that allows you to save
power. And, if the worst happens
and for some unexpected reason
you’re without power, you’ll still
have access to fresh drinking water.
All the taps are connected to an 87L
water tank mounted underneath the
Crossover and there’s an additional
87L tank available as an option.
All the switches and monitoring
systems are easy to find and clearly
labeled. In terms of power, the Crosso-
ver comes standard with a 100ah deep
cycle battery that charges itself when
the Crossover is connected to your
tow vehicle. However, you do have the
option of adding a second battery, a
charger and an 85w solar panel, which
allows the Crossover to become even
more self-sufficient. There are four
240v outlets scattered throughout the
Vista and two external 12v outlets.
The external slideout kitchen has a full stainless steel construction and features a twin
burner gas stovetop and a stainless steel sink with a pressurised tap. There are also two
drawers for storing all your cutlery and cooking utensils and there’s ample bench space
for preparing any meal.
