This document outlines a project to create a virtual local currency called Cloughpenny for the Cloughjordan eco-village using blockchain technology. The project aims to develop a proof-of-concept currency for the eco-village and disseminate information about it through academic workshops and articles. It also seeks to connect the eco-village to a wider research network by testing blockchain applications in practice from June to September before hosting a public workshop to share results in October.
