2. Weather and climate Weather is the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure, etc. Climate is the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years. www.dictionary.com
3. What is Global Warming????? Over the last 100 years, the average temperature of the air near the Earth´s surface has risen a little less than 1° Celsius (0.74 ± 0.18°C, or 1.3 ± 0.32° Fahrenheit). Does not seem all that much? It is responsible for the conspicuous increase in storms, floods and raging forest fires we have seen in the last ten years, though, say scientists. Their data show that an increase of one degree Celsius makes the Earth warmer now than it has been for at least a thousand years. Out of the 20 warmest years on record, 19 have occurred since 1980. The three hottest years ever observed have all occurred in the last ten years, even. Earth should be in cool-down-period, But it is not only about how much the Earth is warming, it is also about how fast it is warming. There have always been natural climate changes – Ice Ages and the warm intermediate times between them – but those evolved over periods of 50,000 to 100,000 years.
4. What causes Climate Change??? Greenhouse Gases, and Sulfate Aerosols and Black Carbon.
5. Similarities and differences of climate and weather? Climate is the type of weather over a period of time. Also climate is hot and or cold Weather is what happens to the environment They both have to do with temperature and the type of environment.
6. Climate created a change in weather patterns? If it is a desert then it wont rain as much as a rain forest does If it is a rain forest then it wont be as dry as a desert
7. How does the changing climate impact abiota Precipitation levels are rising because the ice is melting that floods the cities
8. How does the changing climate impact biota The animals can not adapt to the warmer environment so quickly. The climate change is killing some of the plants or animals that they eat.
9. Is it getting warmer or colder?? Two authorities provide us with analysis of long-term surface temperature trends. Both agree on the global temperature trend until 1998, at which time a sharp divergence occurred. The UK Meteorological Office's Hadley Center for Climate Studies Had-Crut datashows worldwide temperatures declining since 1998. According to Hadley's data, the earth is not much warmer now than it was than it was in 1878 or 1941.
10. What can we do to stop global warming??? Carpool, turn off some of your lights when you are not there and many other reasonable ways!!!!
