Clearwire Corporation builds and operates wireless broadband networks that provide high-speed internet access to communities. Founded in 2003 by telecom pioneer Craig McCaw, Clearwire is headquartered in Kirkland, WA. Clearwire aims to provide fast, simple, and portable internet access through its networks. In 2008, Clearwire merged with Sprint's WiMAX business to gain spectrum and reduce costs through synergies. The merger gave Sprint majority ownership of Clearwire. Clearwire focuses on building out 4G networks to deliver fast internet speeds wirelessly.
