We live in a unique and wondrous place. Exploring local wildlife, wild lands, and 
the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem can be engaging and fun for students of all 
ages. 
The Wildlife Connection 
We provide the support teachers and students 
can really use… 
 K-12 Classroom Visits from YWS wildlife 
educators. Our lesson plans include 
formative assessments, differentiated-learning 
opportunities, and is guided by 
Common Core Standards. 
 Wildlife Encounters in the classroom. 
 Sanctuary Tours. Our sanctuary residents 
act as ambassadors for their wildlife 
counterparts and provides an unmatched 
opportunity for learning. 
 Enthusiasm for exploring the wilds and 
engendering an ethic of care and 
stewardship for our natural environment. 
Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary aims to be a 
leader in promoting the value of our unique 
wildlife, wild lands, and the Greater 
Yellowstone Ecosystem. Let us partner with 
your school and engage your students in 
E-STEM, project -based learning. * 
Our classroom outreach effort, The Wildlife 
Connection, offers students a unique, positive 
learning experience. We help young people 
make meaningful connections to local wildlife 
and their natural world. Students gain a deeper 
appreciation for the Greater Yellowstone 
Ecosystem and develop a personal meaning of 
conservation. 
* E-STEM refers to using Science, Technology, 
Engineering, and Math in a thematic way to explore 
Environmental Sciences. 
Resources in which YWS heavily borrows includes 
the framework adapted from the North American 
Alliance of Environmental Education and activities 
from Project Wild.
