Clarinus Circle
Education, Empowerment and Equality
Vision
 Society to provide support to queer bodies in Clarinus and
lodge complaints.
 Safe space for queer bodies to discuss daily and relevant
issues.
 Promote and/or provide space for understanding between
queer bodies and those who identify as heterosexuals.
Mission
 Facilitating monthly discussions, conversations, dialogues
on various topics concerning queer bodies and non-queer
bodies.
 Creating an awareness via pamphlets, social media,
discussions, workshops and newspapers around sexual
rights.
Objectives
 To provide a space for first years to deal with transition in
a diverse space such as Clarinus.
 To refer, advise and support queer bodies in terms of
integration within their families and society.
 Creating an Open door policy for queer bodies and non-
queer bodies.
Membership
 Membership is free and open to all Clarinus Village
members.
 There will be sign-ups for events.
Committees
 Propose for next year; elections in September 2016 for
2017 executive members.

 The executive committee will meet bi-monthly
Events
We propose that we have 6 events namely:
 Guest speaker for the interactive talk during Transformation month
which is in March.
 Life Skills workshop targeted at High School learners in previously
disadvantaged communities like Khayelitsha, Langa and Gugulethu.
 Transition from home to University talk for first year students.
 Transition from University to home talk for first year students.
 Theatre night for the whole house. Will be disclosed later.
 1 Games night per semester for queer bodies and non-queer bodies.
