Fallen trees, downed power lines, and debris from a recent storm continue to pose dangers to motorists in southern South Carolina. The South Carolina Emergency Management Agency has declared a state of emergency for Allendale, Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, and Jasper counties. Motorists are urged to drive slowly and carefully on secondary roads in the affected areas for the next 23 hours.
