Design+Build
Design and build
Simon and Nicola knew the house
needed a lot of work when they bought
it, but with a young family and busy lives
wanted the work completed – quickly –
before moving in.
As the busy couple also needed someone
to take on all aspects of their project,
Civic’s Design & Build package suited
them perfectly. But like any couple
creating their future home, they wanted
to be involved in all key decisions.
According to Simon, “we felt Civic got
the balance right – they respected the
fact that we were really busy and got
on with the work but they also involved
us whenever necessary, and kept us
updated on progress.”
Interior design
Simon and Nicola were impressed that
the process started with a discussion
of lifestyle, what spaces they wanted
to create and how they would use them.
Clever changes to internal doorways
and the introduction of French windows
leading to a new patio have changed the
dynamics of how the house works and
created the spaces the family can really
enjoy. Details such as the window seat
add individual touches that just make
everyday living a pleasure.
When you first walk in you are struck
by Simon and Nicola’s impressive
hallway; but it didn’t come about by
accident. Nicola again: “Civic knew
how important this hallway was to us
so they took us shopping! We spent
the day with interior designer Mark
and found the fantastic light fitting.”
Civic’s interior designer Mark’s input has
been a key factor for them. “Mark helped
ensure that the home we now have reflects
the pictures that had been taking shape
in our minds since we first saw the house
and decided to buy it.” says Nicola.
The quality engineered solid oak flooring
throughout the ground floor, the design
of furniture including bespoke wardrobes,
the layout of the kitchen and the light,
calming décor throughout the house all
bear testimony to the designer’s skills.
Quality
Civic prides itself on the quality of
workmanship and materials. The bespoke
wardrobes and kitchen were installed
by qualified joiner Anthony and were
another reason that the couple were so
happy with the work. “Anthony and the
lads have done a really good job for us –
in fact all the work is of a very high
standard” says Simon.
Stress free
Civic also deals with the all essentials of
21st century family living. They organised
Data cabling, AV installation including
surround sound in the family room and
lounge, TV satellite equipment and
bespoke lighting throughout the house
saving Nicola and Simon the stress of
dealing with various service providers.
“We just want to know that it’s there
and it works,” says Simon. “It is, and
it does – thanks to Civic.”
Transformed in just 5 months, this extended
and renovated home is just what Simon and
Nicola pictured – and more; a home that truly
‘fits’ their lifestyle.
