This document provides information about the Christianity Explored adult Sunday school being offered at Heritage Presbyterian Church in 2019. The class uses a curriculum called Christianity Explored, which is a 7-week course that uses the Gospel of Mark to explore who Jesus is, why he came, and what his life and teachings mean for us. Each weekly session involves a Bible study, a 10-15 minute video by host Rico Tico, and discussion. The goal is for participants to better understand and share the good news of the gospel with others. All community members are invited to attend the Friday night sessions in February-April to ask questions and learn more about Jesus.
Homily for the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle B. Theme is focused on hospitality and our call to be Christ to the world. With the growing faction of orthodoxy in the Church, many are focused on spiritual worthiness versus gospel hospitality. They miss the message!
Geore Muller was a man of great faith in the God who he came to trust as a young man after having lived for most of his youth as a self-inteerested cheat and liar.
He is best known for his tireless work in establishing an orphanage in Bristol to care for thousands of children.
He never once asked for money or made an appeal of any kind but rather waited on God in prayer.
His prayers were answered in many, many ways and as a result unwanted children were loved and cared for and he was able to also set up a great work in distributing Bibles and christian literature throughout the world.
George Muller lived and died trusting in God alone to provide for his every need - in Christ alone, by faith alone.

Diocese of London Lent Appeal 2015. Who inspired you when you were younger?diolondon
Our Lent Appeal this year asks the question: 'Who inspired you when you were younger to become the person you are today?'
You might make an opportunity to share your answers in your prayer or study groups or other church groups, giving thanks to God.
Practically, the goal of our Lent Appeal is to fund additional youth, children and family workers to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to serve their communities.
We are raising funds for the Bishop of London’s Mission Fund, which is looking to support children, youth and family projects across the Diocese and who will be investing at least £1 million over the next three years in order to realise this goal.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. What's the best news you've ever
heard?
Was it surprising? Did it change the way
you think? Or was it something you
wanted to be true but didn't dare hope?
• Christianity Explored is a relaxed and informal
way of sharing the best news you can ever
hear, and gives people space and time to think
about the big questions of life
• Over seven sessions in Mark’s Gospel, guests
find out more about the life of the person at
the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ
• The structure of each session is simple: a short
Bible study, a thought-provoking 10-15 minute
video, and a discussion based on the video
2
3. Why are we doing this?
• As the session has been praying and thinking about the
future of this church we have had to acknowledge that
we have been weak in providing opportunities for the
congregation to engage their neighbors and friends with
the good news.
• The door is always open to invite others to join us in
worship, or come see the story of Christmas portrayed
with “Stories in the Park,” or even to invite them to a
small group with you.
• But we were asking, “What ministries are available that
provide a clear, effective presentation of the good news
that is readily accessible to the those who think they
know what Christianity is basically about, and to those
who really don’t know at all?”
• As a “gospel course,” Christianity Explored kept coming
to the top of the list.
