procurement process for guidance to staff across the authority including partners and which is now
available via the intranet.
I have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, which is of benefit when preparing Contract

Please see below recent quotes from my adult services line manager (who has since become a
Procurement Lead within the Strategic Procurement Team) within my mid term appraisal during my
previous secondment within Islington Council between April 2009 – April 2011 and with further
e mails.
“Chris has undertaken a number of procurement projects since starting his secondment. He has
taken responsibility for advising PCT and Social Services commissioners on procurement options
and is continually researching to ensure his advice is current and up to date. Commissioners have
confidence in his abilities and knowledge and Chris has established good working relationships
which have enabled him to work with them collaboratively to meet key deadlines and objectives.”
“Chris represents the team on Project Boards and advises clearly on the process from planning
stage through to contract award and advising successful and unsuccessful bidders.”
“He is very efficient when using and advising on the e-procurement system. Chris will face a
challenge on the Learning Disability tender of 17 services where deadlines and timescales are
critical to manage. His strong organisational abilities and knowledge of the procedure will be key in
achieving the best outcomes.”
“Chris is very good at pitching his communication style to the particular audience. He worked well
with the service user representative to ensure he understood and contributed to the evaluation
process in a positive way.”
“Chris is an excellent team member and has been supportive to new members. He is supporting a
new Procurement Officer to introduce him into Islington Council’s procurement policy and practice.
He is guiding him through the drafting of key procurement documentation and the e-procurement
system.”
