Computer monitor
A monitor is a piece of computer
hardware that displays the video and
graphics information generated by a
connected computer through the
computer's video card. Monitors are
similar to TVs, but usually display
information at a much higher
resolution.
A mouse is a small device that a
computer user pushes across a desk
surface to point to a place on a
display screen and select one or more
actions to take from that position.

The keyboard is the piece of computer hardware used to input text,
characters, and other commands into a computer or similar device.

The case of a desktop computer houses
the internal components such as the
power supply, motherboard, central
processing unit (CPU), memory, disk
drives, and assorted adapter cards. Cases
are typically made of plastic, steel, or
aluminum and provide the framework to
support, protect, and cool the internal
components.

The motherboard connects
components such as ROM,
CPU, RAM, PCI slots, USB
ports, and other peripherals.
It also attaches devices like
a DVD drive, hard drive,
mouse, and keyboard to the
controller.

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the
primary component of a computer that
acts as its “control center.” The CPU,
also referred to as the “central” or
“main” processor, is a complex set of
electronic circuitry that runs the
machine's operating system and apps.
Computer CPU
RAM is a common computing
acronym that stands for random-
access memory. Sometimes it's
called PC memory or just memory.
In essence, RAM is your computer
or laptop's short-term memory. It's
where the data is stored that your
computer processor needs to run
your applications and open your
files.
Computer RAM
ROM is an acronym for Read-Only Memory. It refers to computer memory
chips containing permanent or semi-permanent data.
Computer ROM
A hard disk drive (HDD) is an
internal or external computer
component that stores data, such as
the operating system, applications,
and user files. HDDs are “non-
volatile” storage devices, meaning
they retain stored data even when
power isn't being supplied.
Computer hard disk drive (HDD)
An optical drive is a computer component that reads optical media such as CDs, DVDs,
or Blu-ray discs.
Computer optical drive
power supply or PSU (power
supply unit) is a hardware
component of a computer that
supplies all other components
with power.
