This document summarizes a research project that explored children and young people's experiences of the 2013/14 UK winter floods. The researchers worked with two groups of flood-affected children ages 6-12 and young people ages 11-15 from different areas that experienced flooding. Through creative workshops, the children articulated their experiences and recommendations. Six key themes emerged from their perspectives: needing greater flood awareness and education; understanding losses experienced; difficulties recovering long-term; feeling isolated; seeing children as active contributors rather than just victims; and recognizing the need for adaptation. The children produced manifestos outlining recommendations in recovery, resilience, and education.
