This document profiles several chefs and cooks available for hire through Direct Image to perform at food promotions and events. Philippine cuisine
The style of cooking and the food associated with it have evolved over many centuries from their Austronesian origins to a mixed cuisine of Malay-Indonesian, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and American, in line with the major waves of influence that had enriched the cultures of the archipelago, as well as others adapted to indigenous ingredients and the local palate.

What is Austronesian?
refers to a population group present in Southeast Asia or Oceania who speak, or had ancestors who spoke, one of the Austronesian languages. Apart from the Polynesian people of Oceania, the Austronesian people include: Taiwanese Aborigines, the majority ethnic groups of East Timor, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Cook Sally
Sally “sweetpea” – self confessed foodie, cook and teacher
Sally has an infectious passion for food you can’t help but catch.
Some of the many highlights of Sally’s career include planning,
managing and presenting Cooking Shows at The Melbourne
Food and Wine Festival, The Mornington Peninsula Australia Day
Festival, Frankston’s Waterfront Festival, Queen Victoria Market
and the South Melbourne Market’s “LG Kitchen”.
At many events Sally has worked alongside well known culinary
talents including Tobie Puttock, Lola Berry, Rowie Dillon, Ian Curley,
Janelle Bloom, Scott Pickett, Adam D’Sylva and Shane Delia.
Her passion for teaching stems from her career as a primary
school teacher and her happy, outgoing and relaxed personality
engages audiences of all ages.

Chef Anton
An award winning chef, a master MC and a born entertainer!
At the tender age of 16 the kitchen became Anton’s true love as
he began his apprenticeship for the Novotel Group. He quickly
became a sought after commodity by restaurant establishments
throughout Australia and Asia.
Chef Anton’s numerous Awards for his delightful desserts,
innovative hot plates, and sensational sugar and chocolate
work are testament to his brilliance in the kitchen.
A natural entertainer and Master MC, Anton’s Cooking Shows are
first rate entertainment, whilst promoting fresh food & a healthy diet.
When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find Chef Anton exercising in
the park or at a local gym.
In Chef Anton’s own words…“Food is so much more than just
nourishment, it is a lifestyle, it is memorable, and most importantly,
it is an integral element of every family.”

3. Chef Robert
English born ‘gentleman chef’ and global traveller!
A classically trained chef with a wealth of experience in
hospitality and the food industry, Chef Robert began his career
aboard the Luxury Liner QE2. His career has seen him cook for
Royalty, Heads of State, Politicians and Movie Stars.
A passion for travel has exposed Robert to a wide variety of
cuisines which shine through in his cooking. Chef Robert loves
to share his travel stories in his cooking classes which makes for
great entertainment. His excellent communication skills provide
him with the ability to engage and entertain audiences.
Chef Robert is passionate about creativity in the kitchen and
has an excellent eye for design and detail. We wouldn’t expect
anything less from this English gentleman!

Cook Lauren
BHSc (Health Promotion & Nutrition)
As a child, Cook Lauren developed her palate from both edible
and non-edible items, which fuelled her delight and curiosity
of flavorsome food, it’s components and medicinal properties.
Lauren went on to study Nutrition and Health Promotion which
assisted in the development of her sensational culinary skills.
Over the last decade, Cook Lauren has eaten her way through
several continents and explored many amazing places and
cultures. These adventures exposed her to a wide variety of
cuisines and flavours which she adapted into her cooking style.
With a strong passion for all things nutritious and delicious, Cook
Lauren conducts Cooking Classes for children and teenagers,
Gluten Free Cooking Demonstrations and ‘Fresh is Best’ Cooking
Shows. There’s not much this talented lady can’t do!
Cook Lauren’s objective for her shows is to demonstrate how
creating healthy and tasty meals can be easy peasy (lemon
squeezy) using fresh and simple ideas. She can show you how the
most nutritious, healthy meals can also be the tastiest, presenting
them in a way that inspires others to try it at home.

4. Cook Sophia
BASc (psychology and health)
Passionate mediterranean cook and entertainer!
At the tender age of 8 years, Sophia could be found in the kitchen
wearing her Mother’s high heel shoes and lipstick, pretending to
be hosting a Cooking Show to her family audience. She would
do this after watching her idol, Tess Mallos, the famous chef who
starred on The Greek Variety Show.
As a young teenager, Sophia made a mental note that cooking
delicious food was the key to her father’s heart, and thus began
her lifetime hobby of connecting with others through cooking,
sharing good food and entertaining.
With a Bachelor in Health and Psychology, Sophia’s wealth of
experience extends from running Cooking Classes around the
world to being the Head Cook at a popular bistro in a Greek
fishing village. In Sophia’s own words “Being Greek Australian
has definitely given me the heads up when it comes to cooking
and entertaining”.
Sophia’s boundless energy and delightful way of presenting
captivate an audience. Cook Sophia is available for Cooking
Shows and demonstrations.
Cook Julie
Passionate Italian cook with a creative flair!
Cook Julie is one of those people who lights up a room (usually
a kitchen!) when she walks into it. Julie’s cooking shows are both
educational, engaging and always delivered with a bright smile!
Julie has been a hands on cook since a very young age, cooking
traditional Italian food with her family. She persisted with her food
dream and went on to gain her formal food qualifications and
develop her own company, ‘Grow, Cook, Share’ offering cooking
classes/workshops, cooking parties, dinner party menu planning
and corporate/team events.
Julie loves to travel and always takes the opportunity when
abroad to learn new skills. These skills have given her the ability
to menu plan, recipe develop and cook across a diverse range
of cuisines including Italian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Asian fusion,
Malay, Mexican, Japanese and more. Travel has also given her
a great understanding of current food trends.
Julie’s objectives with her cooking shows are to educate her
audience on healthy lifestyle options including food intolerances
and preferences. Julie also believes it’s important to minimise
food waste and she includes ways to do this in her shows.
Julie’s larger than life personality along with her broad cooking
knowledge and professional presentation make Cook Julie the
