Cheetahs usually live alone or in pairs and there are currently between 9,000-12,000 cheetahs in the world. They are the fastest land mammal and can run up to 120 km/h. Cheetah mothers leave their cubs when they are around 2 years old and the cubs are vulnerable to predators until that time. Cheetahs have long, thin but strong legs, small heads, and tawny-brown fur covered in black spots.
