This document provides an overview of the book "Language Attitudes and Identities in Multilingual China: A Linguistic Ethnography" by Sihua Liang. It discusses conducting research on language attitudes in multilingual China. The book uses linguistic ethnography as a research design to study language use and attitudes among students and teachers in two school communities in Guangzhou, a multilingual city in China. Fieldwork included interviews, observations and recordings of interactions to understand language socialization processes and the negotiation of language policies in educational and social contexts.
