Présentation des 14 points de William Edwards Deming, à l’origine des principales transformations managériales des 60 dernières années, dont les démarches de « lean management » sont aujourd’hui les héritières.
The document summarizes Joseph M. Juran's quality management trilogy. The trilogy involves three processes: quality planning, quality control, and quality improvement. Quality planning establishes goals and processes to meet customer needs. Quality control evaluates performance against goals and acts on differences. Quality improvement identifies and implements projects to diagnose and remedy issues and sustain gains. The trilogy provides a framework for organizations to continuously improve quality and business results through better understanding the relationships between planning, controlling, and improving processes.
This document summarizes a project to improve corrosion protection for ductile iron castings in accordance with international standards. Specifications were clarified to define surface preparation and coating application requirements. A supplier assessment identified gaps that were addressed by upgrading facilities and training. A trial run was conducted and passed inspection and testing, validating the new specification and process improvements.
This document summarizes a project to reduce shell weight for BH521 6-cavity shells from 27kg to 25kg while maintaining low defect rates. Key actions included measuring current weights, analyzing factors like investment time and temperature, conducting experiments to optimize parameters, implementing controls at 65-70s and 240°C, and verifying the new process achieved an average weight of 25.5kg. Savings of 1.4kg resin per shell and an extra shell per hour were projected to yield annual savings of Rs. 5.88 lakhs. Controls were established for materials, times, and temperatures to sustain the improvement.

Cold forging Process and Product Development - Case studyAbdullah Ansari
The document discusses redesigning the cold forging process and tooling for producing a valve tappet part. The original single-stage process resulted in inconsistent and excessive head offsetting. Analyzing the process found the D2/d2 and l/d ratios exceeded standards. Recalculations determined a two-stage process with an intermediate stepped blank was needed. Trials with new tooling produced satisfactory results with low, consistent head offsetting. Implementation of the redesigned two-stage process and tooling solved the issues, improved dimensions consistency, reduced setup time and waste.
This document provides an overview of bolted connections, including the types of bolted joints and their benefits. It discusses key quality controls for fasteners, such as grade and coating. Important considerations for bolted connection design are outlined, including thread engagement calculation methods. Common mistakes in design are described. Examples are given demonstrating incorrect versus proper methods of calculating thread engagement. The document concludes with care points for hot dip galvanized and zinc flake coated fasteners.
Assessment of for Suitability of Ductile Iron Castings for cold climatesAbdullah Ansari
This document summarizes a technical feasibility assessment of using EN-GJS-400-18-LT castings for cold climate applications. Impact testing was conducted on 85 castings at various temperatures, and regression analysis showed that impact value is most significantly predicted by testing temperature and proof strength. Factor analysis identified testing temperature as the main effect. Of 80 castings tested at -20C, the analysis estimated that 6 would meet an impact requirement of 10J average at -40C, while 71 would meet 7J individual. It was concluded that 7J individual at -40C is very possible for EN-GJS-400-18-LT, but 10J average would require using EN-GJS-350-22-
1) The project aimed to improve the direct pass ratio of castings produced by SUPPLIER for CUSTOMER from 0% to acceptable standards over 2 years.
2) Initial analyses found major casting defects and non-conformances due to issues like casting defects, poor mechanical properties, dimensions, and quality control processes.
3) Actions taken included establishing quality systems, control plans, process FMEAs, improving raw material combinations, training, and establishing testing standards.
4) Results showed significant improvement over 8 quarters from 17.65% to 93.36% direct pass ratio, with over 15,000 metric tons of acceptable castings produced after the project.
The document describes the general process for manufacturing ductile iron castings. It involves steps like raw material receipt, pattern making, core making, molding, melting, desulfurization, magnesium treatment, inoculation, pouring, cooling, shakeout, finishing, and inspection. The key goals are to produce nodular graphite structure and achieve required mechanical properties through proper process control and chemistry adjustments.
This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
