- 2. It was a hot night in October 2011. A stray cow wandered on the roads – lost, confused and bellowing in distress. A kind passerby noticed her and led her to the CUPA shelter. On arrival, she collapsed – exhausted and dehydrated. On examination, doctors found that she was in labor pain but had absolutely no strength to push her baby out. CUPA’s skilled doctors stayed by her side and assisted her through a very tough delivery. When the calf was born, even in her weak and indisposed state, she lifted her head and searched for her calf.
