CUPA thanks ______________________________
for sponsoring care and treatment for BHEEMA
From ___________ till ____________
For CUPA
________________
It was a hot night in October 2011. A stray cow wandered on the roads – lost, confused and
bellowing in distress. A kind passerby noticed her and led her to the CUPA shelter. On arrival, she
collapsed – exhausted and dehydrated. On examination, doctors found that she was in labor pain but
had absolutely no strength to push her baby out. CUPA’s skilled doctors stayed by her side and
assisted her through a very tough delivery. When the calf was born, even in her weak and indisposed
state, she lifted her head and searched for her calf. One look and one lick later, she was gone.
The calf was hand-reared and bottle-fed in the shelter for several months before being shifted to the
Large Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre (LARRC). We call him Bheema, after the formidable
mythological character but is more famous for head-butting visitors when they least expect it!
Maintaining Bheema costs Rs. 3000 or GBP 30 per month, and your kind donation will aid CUPA in
continuing to provide these much needed relief services to animals in pain and distress. Thank you.
