A certificate of adoption from Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) thanks a sponsor for funding the care and treatment of Brownie, a horse, from a certain date until a certain date. Brownie was previously used in a riding school to entertain amateur riders and children but was neglected when the school's owner lost money and stopped paying workers. Brownie and two other horses were found starved and dehydrated after being neglected for over two weeks until boys discovered them and alerted others. One horse died before being rescued but Brownie is now doing well at a large animal rescue center where his basic monthly expenses are about 5000 rupees or 50 British pounds.

2. After retiring from being a racehorse,
Brownie was purchased by a riding school
that used him to entertain amateur
riders and children.
Maintaining horses is an expensive affair.
Horses are delicate and sensitive animals
that can only sustain on specific diets
and in certain conditions. When the
owner of the horse riding school started
losing money, he stopped paying his
workers, who in turn stopped coming to
work. Three horses were completely
neglected for over two weeks until
luckily, they were spotted by young
boys playing cricket nearby. They
informed their parents who immediately
called CUPA.
The horses were dehydrated and starved
when they arrived. Sadly, one horse
succumbed before it could be rescued.
Brownie is doing well now and has made
friends with other horses, ponies and
donkeys at the Large Animal Rescue and
Rehabilitation Centre.
Basic expenses mount up to Rs. 5000
or GBP 50 per month. We Thank you
