Impact Assessment of the Community Animal Health System in Mandera West Distr...copppldsecretariat
The pastoralist communities in Kenya’s arid lands rely on their livestock for food and income, and basic veterinary care is one of the best ways to protect livestock assets and pastoralist livelihoods in these areas. This report examines the impact of a privatized, community-based veterinary service in the far northeast of Kenya, and focuses on the outcomes of clinical services provided by community-based animal health workers (CAHWs). Fatality rates in herds in treated by CAHWs using medicines from rural pharmacies were significantly lower than in herds where treatments were provided by untrained livestock keepers. The report adds to the substantial body of evidence already collected in Kenya on the impact and financial rationale for CAHW systems. Although many other countries have now legalized these systems and developed national guidelines for CAHW training, Kenya has yet to officially recognize CAHWs and overall, veterinary services in pastoralist areas often remain in the hands of untrained workers and unlicensed drug vendors.

The poem is about the narrator's frustration with being taught British and European history in school but not learning about important figures and events from his own Caribbean cultural history and identity. He lists famous people from British history, literature, and nursery rhymes that were taught, but was not taught about influential figures from black history like Toussaint L'Ouverture, Nanny of the Maroons, and Mary Seacole. In the ending lines, the narrator declares that he will now research and embrace his own cultural heritage and identity.

European healthcare – the good, the bad and what
needs to be done?
Ten years of open assessment have taught Health Consumer Powerhouse that there are
surprisingly stable patterns of national healthcare systems of Europe. Some are quite
positive: overall, the performance of almost every country improves year by year, offering
more than 500 million people stronger patient influence, better access, reduced risk of
medical failures, improved treatment outcomes and, even in times of significant funding
pressure, extended range and reach of services in the public package. The negative impact
from austerity policies were somewhat increased waiting in some countries (largely reversed
in 2014) and slower inclusion of new pharmaceuticals in reimbursement systems.
This is the product of compilation from various sources. I would like to acknowledge all direct and indirect sources although they have not been mentioned explicitly within the document.

The Roadmap provides a framework for hospitals to assess their current practices and identify opportunities for improvement
across the care continuum—from admission to discharge. It includes recommended issues for hospitals to address, along with
related practice examples. The Roadmap also discusses relevant Joint
Think of epilepsy as an electrical storm in the brain. This abnormal brain activity causes seizures, unusual behavior or sensations, or a loss of awareness.
Most of the 50 million people who have it can live seizure-free if they take inexpensive, effective medicines. But 80% of people with epilepsy live in low- and middle-income countries, where three-quarters of them lack treatment, according to a new WHO global report on epilepsy.
The report is produced by WHO in collaboration with the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE).
This thesis explores self-care practices and support for patients with type 2 diabetes in Malaysia. It aims to understand self-care practices of patients, factors influencing self-care, and perspectives on self-care support provision from patients, healthcare professionals, and the healthcare system. The study uses a qualitative case study design, collecting data through interviews and observations of 18 patients and 19 healthcare professionals involved in diabetes care across primary and secondary care settings. The findings provide insights into self-care practices, barriers and facilitators to self-care, and delivery of support within the Malaysian healthcare context.

The Department published the fourth annual report on progress in delivering the End of Life Care Strategy, which was published in 2008.
The End of Life Care strategy states that, wherever possible, people should be able to spend their last days in the place of their choosing.
Most people say that they would prefer to get this support in their own home. For people who move to live in a care home, that becomes their home.
Since the launch of the End of Life Care (EoLC) strategy in 2008, the 4th annual report confirms that almost 30,000 more people have been able to die where they usually live - at home, or in a care home.

ASSESSMENT OF RMNCH FUNCTIONALITY IN HEALTH FACILITIES IN BAUCHI STATE, NIGERIAHFG Project
This document summarizes an assessment of reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) services in health facilities in Bauchi State, Nigeria. It found that infrastructure like electricity, water and toilets were lacking in many facilities. There were also shortages of skilled healthcare workers, especially midwives, and staff training. While many facilities offered antenatal care and immunizations, availability of emergency obstetric and newborn care and services like postnatal care and post-abortion care were more limited. Supplies of essential medicines, equipment and guidelines were also often inadequate. Community outreach was provided by some facilities but could be expanded.
AIDSTAR-One Assessment of Infection Prevention and Patient Safety Commodities...AIDSTAROne
In Ethiopia, ensuring a sufficient and sustainable supply of infection prevention and patient safety (IPPS) commodities is an important strategy to combat the high risk of transmission of health care–associated infections. However, there is a lack of awareness on the proper utilization of IPPS commodities by health care workers, and a lack of accurate data on the quantity of essential IPPS commodities needed by the health care system to adequately protect workers, patients, and the community from health care-associated infections. This assessment used a consultative approach to develop a national standardized and prioritized list of IPPS commodities for all levels of health care facilities, and quantified the annual need of IPPS commodities for the four levels of health care facilities in Ethiopia. This report summarizes the findings of the assessment.

This report analyzes 90 Care Quality Commission inspection reports from 2015 to assess how effectively the statutory duty of candour is being regulated and implemented in NHS hospitals in England. The duty of candour requires open and honest communication with patients when certain patient safety incidents occur. The analysis found that while most reports mentioned the duty of candour, the level of analysis was often superficial. Some reports identified issues like a lack of staff understanding or non-compliance. The report concludes more robust monitoring and enforcement is still needed to ensure proper implementation of the duty of candour.
