Cobb Virtual Academy and Georgia Virtual School Cobb Virtual Academy Just like classes taken at the local school during the Fall and Spring terms, there is no charge for courses taken as part of a student's regular school day (state-funded school schedule). Courses taken in addition to the regular school day and all summer term courses are tuition courses. Tuition is $275 for a .5 unit course and $550 for a 1.0 unit course. http://www.cobbk12.org/schools/cobbvirtualacademy/ Georgia Virtual School Public school students: Local schools will pay tuition and fees for students enrolled in a GaVS course that is part of the student's regular school day. - 14. Dual Enrollment STEPS FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT You can learn more about colleges that offer dual enrollment here: www.gafutures.org. I have listed the steps for the two most commonly used colleges here at PHS. THERE ARE MANY OTHER SCHOOLS THAT OFFER DUAL ENROLLMENT OPTIONS! Step 1: Choose a College Georgia Military College Chattahoochee Technical College Step 2: Take the Accuplacer Both schools will come to PHS to offer this test a few times each school year; listen to announcements for dates Step 3: Apply to the College's DE program When you take the Accuplacer with GMC, they will walk you through the application Apply here: http://www.chattahoocheetech.edu/deadmissions/ Step 4: Meet with the Dual Counselor During this time, Mrs. Goldman will give you the Student Participation form and guide you through options. Email Mrs. Goldman at candice.goldman@cobbk12.org for an appointment. Step 5: Complete the Student Participation Agreement Student, parent, & counselor signs form. Return to Ms. Goldman. She will then scan and submit it to GMC. Student, parent, & counselor sign form. Student uploads Student Participation Agreement here: http://www.chattahoocheetech.edu/deadmissions/ Step 6: Complete the DE Funding Application IMPORTANT! This must be completed prior to starting classes so that the course is paid for! SEE BACK THIS PAPER FOR STEP BY STEP FUNDING APP INSTRUCTIONS Step 7: Continue to check your email; both your PERSONAL and YOUR COLLEGE EMAIL You will be contacted by the schools regarding IMPORTANT information! (ex. Orientation information, to access your course, etc.) Ms. Goldman can help guide you, but YOU ARE NOW A COLLEGE STUDENT ONCE YOU BEGIN TAKING DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES! It is important that you take these courses seriously and reach out to your COLLEGE advisor when you have questions or concerns about your PAY ATTENTION TO REGISTRATION/WITHDRAWAL DEADLINES!
