Saint Catherine of Siena lived from 1347 to 1380 in Italy. She received her first religious vision at age 6 and went on to have many visions throughout her life. As a tertiary, she starved and physically punished herself. Her major religious achievements included being canonized as a saint, receiving the stigmata, and reuniting the Papacy. She authored over 400 letters and a book called "Dialogues" and worked with the sick and poor. Throughout her life she faced many challenges both trivial and severe.
