Right Planetary And Brake

Disassemble Right Planetary And Brake
Start By;
a. remove final drive, planetary and brake (right side)
1. Position the right final drive, planetary and brake as shown.
2. Remove the two forcing screws and nuts that fasten right planetary and brake (1) to final drive
(2). The two forcing screws and nuts were installed during the removal of the right final drive,
planetary and brake.
3. Attach tooling (A) and a hoist to right planetary and brake (1). Install three 3/8" -16 NC forcing
screws in the final drive hub. Tighten the forcing screws evenly, and remove right planetary and
brake (1) from final drive (2). The weight of the right planetary and brake is 136 kg (300 lb).

NOTICE
Remove bolts (3) evenly to relieve the spring pressure behind gear (4).
4. Remove bolts (3), and remove gear (4) from housing (5).
5. Remove four discs (6) and the three plates from the housing.
NOTICE
Do not let planetary carrier (10) fall when it is pressed from housing
(5).

6. Remove bolts (7) and plate (8). Use a press and tooling (B) to remove planetary carrier (10)
from housing (5).
7. Remove bearing cone (9) from the housing.
8. Remove ring (14) from carrier (11).
9. Remove bolts (13), and remove slinger (12) from the carrier.
NOTICE
Bearing cone (15) must be destroyed to remove it from the carrier.
10. If necessary, remove bearing cone (15) from carrier (11).
11. Use a hammer and punch to push pin (17) into shaft (16).
12. Remove shaft (16), gear (19), two discs (20) and two bearings (21) from carrier (11).
13. Remove pin (17) from shaft (16).

14. Remove the remaining two gears.
15. Remove gear assembly (18) from carrier (11).
NOTICE
Remove bolts (22) evenly to relieve the spring pressure behind retainer
(23).
16. Remove bolts (22), and remove retainer (23) from piston (24).
17. If necessary, remove bearing cups (25) from retainer (23).
18. Remove seal ring (26) from the retainers.
19. Remove piston (24) and O-ring seal (27) from the housing.

20. Remove seal ring (28) from piston (24).
21. If necessary, remove ring (29) from piston (24).
22. Remove spring (30) and ring (31) from housing (5).
Assemble Right Planetary And Brake
1. Put ring (31) and spring (30) in position in housing (5). Spring (30) must be installed with the
convex side up.

2. Install ring (29) on piston (24).
3. Install seal ring (28) in piston (24). Install seal ring (28) with the lip of the seal ring as shown.
Put clean oil on the seal ring.
4. Install piston (24) and O-ring seal (27) in the housing.
5. If bearing cups (25) were removed, lower the temperature of the bearing cups, and install them
in retainer (23).
6. Install seal ring (26) in retainer (23). Install seal ring with the lip of the seal ring as shown. Put
clean oil on the seal ring.
7. Position retainer (23) on piston (24). Make sure the oil passage in retainer (23) is aligned with
the oil passage and O-ring seal in the housing. Install bolts (22) that hold retainer (23) in place.

8. Position gear assembly (18) in carrier (11).
9. Install two bearings (21) in gear (19).
10. Put discs (20) and gear (19) in position in carrier (11), and install shaft (16).
NOTE: Make sure the rubbers in pin (17) are not damaged. If the rubber in the pin is damaged,
replace the pin.
11. Align the hole in shaft (16) with the hole in carrier (11), and install pin (17). Install the pin
until it is even with the surface of the carrier.
12. Install the remaining two gears in the carrier.
NOTE: If bearing cone (15) was removed from carrier (11), a new bearing must be installed.
13. Heat bearing cone (15) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install the bearing cone
on carrier (11). Make sure the bearing cone is seated on the carrier.
14. Coat the flange of slinger (12) which contacts carrier (11) with 8C8422. Put slinger (12) in
position on carrier (11), and install bolts (13).
15. Install ring (14) in carrier (11).
16. Position housing (5) on carrier (11).

17. Heat bearing cone (9) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install the bearing
cone on carrier (11).
18. Position plate (8) on the carrier, and install bolts (7).
19. Start with a disc, and install four discs (6) and the three plates. Alternate the discs and plates.
20. Position gear (4) on housing (5), and install bolts (3).
21. Use a hoist and tooling (A) to position right planetary and brake (1) on final drive (2). Install
the two bolts that fasten the right planetary and brake on the final drive

Power Train Oil Pump

Remove And Install Power Train Oil Pump
Start By:
a. remove drive shaft (pump coupling)
1. Put identification marks on the two wires, and remove them from switch (2).
2. Remove the two bolts that hold tube assembly (4) to the power train oil pump.
3. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (3) from power train oil pump (5).
4. Remove the plastic strap that fastens wiring harness (7) to the frame to prevent damage to the
wiring harness while the power train oil pump is being removed.

5. Attach a nylon strap and hoist to power train oil pump (5). Remove four bolts (8) and two nuts
(9). While holding hose assembly (6) out of the way, remove power train oil pump (5). The weight
of the power train oil pump is 39 kg (85 lb).
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the power train oil pump.
6. Use a hoist and nylon strap to put power train oil pump (5) in position, and install four bolts (8)
and two nuts (9).
7. Position harness assembly (7) on the frame, and install the plastic strap that holds it in place.
8. Position hose assembly (6), and connect hose assemblies (1) and (3) to the power train oil
pump.
9. Install the two bolts that hold tube assembly (4) to the power train oil pump.
10. Connect the two wires to switch (2).
11. Check the power train oil level, and add as necessary. See the Operation And Maintenance
Manual.

Power Train Oil Pump

Disassemble Power Train Oil Pump
Start By:
a. remove power train oil pump
1. Remove seals (1) and (4) from cover (3).
2. Remove four bolts (2), and remove cover (3) from body (5).

3. Remove seals (7), two dowels (6) and bearings (8) from cover (3).
4. Remove seals (9) from body (5).
5. Remove switch (10) from cover assembly (14).
6. Remove four bolts (12), and remove the cage and flange (11) from cover assembly (14).
7. Remove two bolts (13), and remove cover assembly (14) from body (15).
8. Remove the seal and two bearing from cover assembly (14).

9. Remove O-ring seal (16) from cage (17). Remove spiral snap ring (19) from flange (11).
10. Use tooling (A) and a press, and remove flange (11) from cage (17). If necessary, remove plug
(18) from the flange.
11. Use tooling (B), and remove the bearing and lip-type seal from cage (17).
12. Remove body (15) from body assembly (21).
13. Remove four dowels (20) from body (15).
NOTICE
Put identification marks on the pump gears. If the pump gears are
reused, they should be installed into their original positions.
14. Remove gears (23).
15. Remove key (24) from gear assembly (22).

16. Remove body assembly (21) from body (5).
17. Remove seal (25) from both sides of body assembly (21).
18. Remove the two dowels and the two bearings from body assembly (21).
19. Remove gears (26).
20. Remove key (27) from gear assembly (22).
21. Remove seal (28) from body (5).
22. Remove gear assemblies (22) and (29) from body (5).
Assemble Power Train Oil Pump
1. Make sure all parts are clean and free of foreign material. Inspect all parts for wear and damage,
and replace if necessary. Put clean oil on all parts at assembly.

2. Install gear assemblies (22) and (29) in body (5).
3. Install seal (28) on body (5).
4. Install key (27) in the groove in gear assembly (22), and install gears (26).
NOTICE
Install bearings (30) with the joint in both bearings in the correct
location in the body assembly. The location of the joint is at an angle
30° ± 15° from the centerline of the two bearing bores in the direction
of the groove on the pressure side of the pump as shown.

5. Use tooling (B) and a press, and install bearings (30) in body assembly (21). The bearing must
be 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below the surface of the body assembly. See dimension (X).
The inside diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after
installation.
6. Install two dowels in body assembly (21). The dowels should be 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.200 ± .020 in)
above the surface of the body assembly. See dimension (Y).
7. Install seals (25), one on each side, in body assembly (21).
8. Put body assembly (21) in position on body (5).
9. Install key (24) in the groove in gear assembly (22), and install gears (23).
10. Install four dowels (20), two on each side, in body (15). The dowels should be 5.0 ± 0.5 mm
(.200 ± .020 in) above the surface of the body.
11. Put body (15) in position on body assembly (21).

NOTICE
Install two bearings (32) with the joint in both bearings in the correct
location. The location of the joint is at an angle 30° ± 15° from the
centerline of the two bearing bores in the direction of the groove on the
pressure side of the pump. See Illustration C22579P1.
12. Use tooling (B) and a press, and install bearings (33) in cover assembly (14). The bearing must
be 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below the surface of the cover assembly. The inside diameter
of the bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
13. Install seal (33) on cover assembly (14).
14. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the outer diameter of the lip-type seal. Use tooling (B)
and a press, and install the lip-type in cage (17). Put clean oil on the lip of the seal.
15. Use tooling (B) and a press, and install the bearing in cage (17).
16. Clean the outer diameter of the plug that goes in flange (11), and put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket
Material on it. Use tooling (B), and install the plug until it is 1.25 ± 0.25 mm (.050 ± .010 in)
below the surface of the flange.
17. Use tooling (B) and a press, and install flange (11) in cage (17).

18. Install O-ring seal (16) and spiral snap ring (19).
19. Put cover assembly (14) in position on body (15), and install two bolts (13).
20. Put the cage and flange (11) in position, and install four bolts (12). Tighten the bolts to a
torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft).
21. Install switch (10) in cover assembly (14).
22. Install seals (9) on body (5).
NOTICE
Install bearings (30) with the joint in both bearings in the correct
location. The location of the joint is at an angle 30° ± 15° from the
centerline of the two bearing bores in the direction of the groove on the
pressure side of the pump. See Illustration C22579P1.

23. Use tooling (B) and a press, and install bearings (8) in cover (3). The inside diameter of the
bearings must be 31.786 ± 0.008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.
24. Install two dowels (6) in cover (3). The dowels should be 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.200 ± .020 in) above
the surface of the cover.
25. Install seals (7) on cover (3).
26. Put cover (3) in position on body (5), and install four bolts (2).
27. Install seals (1) and (4) on cover (3).
28. Make sure the pump turns freely by hand before and after installation on the case end frame.

Torque Divider

Remove And Install Torque Divider
Start By:
a. remove torque converter outlet relief valve
b. remove drive shaft (main)
1. Remove the floor plate.
2. Loosen the flange bolts on hose (3) and drain the oil from the torque divider. Disconnect hose
(3) from the torque divider when the oil has drained.
3. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the torque divider.

4. Remove elbow (5) from the bottom of the flywheel housing. Remove the O-ring seal from
elbow (5).
5. Remove sleeve (4). Remove the two O-ring seals from sleeve (4).
6. Loosen the hose clamp, and remove hose (7) from tube assembly (6).
7. Disconnect hose assemblies (8) from the steering and implement pump.
8. Remove guard assembly (9).
9. Install tooling (A) on the top of the torque divider housing. Fasten a hoist to tooling (B).
10. Remove the remaining ten bolts that hold the torque divider to the flywheel housing.
11. Install two 3/8" -16 NC forcing screws in the torque divider housing. Tighten the forcing
screws evenly, and remove the torque divider from the flywheel housing. The weight of the torque
divider is 145 kg (320 lb).
12. Lower the torque divider to the ground, and remove it from under the machine.
13. Remove the O-ring seal from the torque divider housing.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the torque divider.
14. Install the O-ring seal on the torque divider housing. Put clean oil on the O-ring seal.

15. Put the torque divider in position under the machine. Fasten a hoist and tooling (A) to the
torque divider.
16. Put the torque divider in position on the flywheel housing, and install guard assembly (9) and
the bolts that hold the torque divider in place.
17. Connect hose assemblies (8) to the steering and implement pump.
18. Install hose (7) on tube assembly (6), and tighten the hose clamp.
19. Install the O-ring seals on sleeve (4) and elbow (5). Install the sleeve and elbow on the bottom
of the torque divider.
20. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) and hose (3) to the torque divider.
21. Install the floor plate.
22. Check the power train oil level, and add as necessary. See the Operation And Maintenance
Manual.

Disassemble Torque Divider
Start By:
a. remove torque divider
NOTICE
When a torque converter or divider has a failure, the complete oil
system for the torque converter, torque divider and transmission must
be thoroughly cleaned. Any foreign material which is not removed
from the oil system for the torque converter will move through the
hydraulic system for the transmission.
