1. Remove bolts (2) and valve (1).
2. Remove gasket (3) from valve (1).
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a
released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to
release the spring force.
3. Remove bolts (4) and head (5).

4. Remove O-ring seal (6), port plate (7), and bearing cup (8) from head (5).
5. Remove nut (9), O-ring seal (10), and solenoid (11).

6. Remove cartridge (12) from adapter (13).
7. Remove adapter (13) from the pump housing.
8. Remove rings (14) and O-ring seal (15) from adapter (13).

9. Remove piston (16), spring (17), and retainer (18) from the pump housing.
10. Remove plug (19), plugs (20), and the O-ring seals.

11. Remove bearing cone (21).
12. Remove shim (22) and barrel assembly (23).
13. Remove pistons (24), plate (25), and bearing (26).

14. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove retaining ring (27) from barrel assembly
(23).
15. Remove spring (28), washer (29), and pins (30) from barrel assembly (23).

16. Remove swashplate (31).
17. Remove screws (32), and bearings (33).
18. Remove shaft assembly (34) and bearing cup (35).
19. Remove O-ring seal (36) and swashplate spring (37).
20. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing cone (38) from shaft (34).

21. Remove retaining ring (39) and lip seal (40).

Start By:
a. Remove the implement pump.
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool
Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on
Cat products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

1. Remove bolts (1) and adapter (2) from the head assembly.
2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from adapter (2).
3. Remove bolts (4) and control valve (5).

4. Remove O-ring seals (6) from control valve (5).
5. Remove bolts (7) and position sensor (8) from cover (9).
Note: Pry slots available on position sensor (8) to aid removal.
6. Remove O-ring seal (10) from position sensor (8).

7. Remove bolts (11) and cover (9) from pump body (12).
Note: Pry slots available on cover (9) to aid removal.
8. Remove O-ring seal (13) from cover (9).
9. Mark the orientation of head assembly (15) in relation to pump body for reassembly
purposes. Remove bolts (14) from head assembly (15).

10. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove head assembly (15) from pump
body (12). The weight of head assembly (15) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
Note: The head assembly bearing can be damaged if the head assembly is not lifted straight
up, use caution. Best to cover the shaft spline before lifting the head assembly to lower
possibility of the head assembly bearing damage. The port plate can fall off when lifting the
head assembly. Look to secure the port plate as lifting the head assembly from the pump
body. Look to confirm that the control and bias actuator pistons are released from the head
assembly.
11. Remove port plate (16) from head assembly (15).
(X) Bearing Notch
(Y) Bearing Joint

12. Mark head assembly (15) at Bearing Notch (X) and Bearing Joint (Y) locations for
assembly orientation of bearing assembly (17).
13. If necessary, use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing retainer (9) from head
assembly (3).
Note: Measure set screws (19) height for reassembly purposes.
14. Remove nuts (18) and set screws (19) from head assembly (15).

15. Remove plug (20), plug (21), and the O-ring seals from head assembly (15).
16. Remove bias actuator (22), spring (23), and control actuator (24) from pump body (12).

17. Place pump body (12) on an angle and lift rotating group (25) out of pump body (12) by
retainer (27).
18. Remove pistons (26) and retainer (27) from the barrel assembly.
19. Remove hold-down ball (28), spacers (29), and springs (30) from the barrel assembly.

20. Remove swashplate (31) from pump body (12).
21. Remove bearing assemblies (34) and timing pins (35) from swashplate (31).
22. Remove bolts (32), the washers, and sensor target (33).

23. Remove bolts (37), retainers (38), and links (36) from swashplate (31).
24. Remove plugs (39), fitting (40), and the O-ring seals.
25. Remove bearing cradles (41) and O-ring seal (42) from pump body (12).

26. Remove bolts (43) from pump body (12).
27. Use Tooling (C) to remove seal retainer (44).

28. Remove O-ring seal (45), lip seals (46), and O-ring seals (47) from seal retainer (44).
29. Remove shaft assembly (48) from pump body (12).
30. Remove retaining ring (49) from shaft assembly (48).
31. Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing (50) from shaft assembly (48).

1. Lubricate all sliding surfaces, radial O-ring seals, lip seals, shaft, and bearings lightly with
hydraulic oil prior to assembly.
2. Install O-ring seal (49) onto cover (48).

3. Install cover (48) and bolts (47). Tighten bolts (47) to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).
4. Use a suitable press to install bearing (46) onto shaft assembly (44).
5. Install retaining ring (45) onto shaft assembly (44).
6. Install shaft assembly (44) into pump housing (15).

7. Use Tooling (C) to install lip seals (42).
8. Install O-ring seal (41) and O-ring seals (43) onto seal retainer (40).

9. Apply Tooling (D) onto bolts (39).
10. Install seal retainer (40) and bolts (39) onto pump housing (15). Tighten bolts (39) to a
torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (20 ± 5 lb ft).
11. Install plugs (35), adapter (36), and the O-ring seals into pump housing (15).
12. Install bearing cups (37) and O-ring seal (38) into pump housing (15).
13. Install actuators (32) , retainers (34), and bolts (33) onto swashplate (30). Tighten bolts (33)
to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

14. Install bearing assemblies (31) onto swashplate (30).
15. Install swashplate (30) into pump body (15).
Note: Ensure that the pins on the bearings align with the holes in pump body (15).

16. Install spacers (28), spring set (29) and hold-down ball (27) onto the barrel assembly.
17. Install pistons (25) and retainer (26) onto the barrel assembly.

18. Place pump body (15) horizontally and install rotating group (24).
19. Install control actuator (23), spring (22), and bias actuator (21) onto pump body (15).
20. Install plug (19), plug (20), and the O-ring seals into head assembly (13).
