18. Connect the steering frame lock link between the front and rear frames
before working on machine.
Do not disconnect the lock link until the machine is made operational
and the commissioning procedure is completed.
Personal injury can result from driveline torque windup under load.
Unequal wheel speed can result in driveline torque windup which can
cause driveline components to be under load during disassembly.
Relieve the driveline torque windup before disassembly.
1. Use Tooling (B) in order to stabilize the machine.

2. Use Tooling (A) in order to raise the front axle until one of the wheels clears the ground.
This releases driveline torque windup in the front axle. Lower the front axle and remove
Tooling (A).

3. The weight of hitch drive shaft (2) is approximately 37 kg (81 lb).
4. Mark orientation and remove eight bolts (1) and from hitch drive shaft (2).
5. Use two people in order to remove hitch drive shaft (2) from the machine.
Installation Procedure
1. Install hitch drive shaft (2) in the reverse order of removal.
a. Inspect hitch drive shaft (2) for damage and replace any parts as needed.
b. Align the keyways and install bolts (1) in order to connect hitch drive shaft (2).
c. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 105 ± 20 N·m (77 ± 15 lb ft).

1. Remove bolts (1) in order to remove locking plate (2) from thrust flange (3) and bearing
carrier (4).

2. Turn over locking plate (2) and position the dowels on locking plate (2) into the holes in
thrust flange (3). Insert a suitable 3/4 inch breaker bar into the locking plate in order to turn
the thrust flange counterclockwise and remove thrust flange (3) from bearing carrier (4).
